This is close to where coal is mined around Lithgow, N.S.W.
To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Philadelphia and Reading railroad, the 2102 was used for a series of special passenger trains in October 1985.

Our University of Otago celebrated 150 years of age this weekend. Quite young as some unis go :) Being Dunedin I had to stand in a cold wind and light rain to take this. My camera lives dangerously and this morning just gives me Err.. messages. I'm hoping some drying will fix it....
Edit: Nothing in the manual about "Err" but found it on the internet, cleaned the lens contacts, and it works again! Phew!
It is 150 years since Confederation of Canada's Provinces, so it will be a big celebration all over the country this weekend. These decorations were displayed on a balcony across the street from my home in West Vancouver, BC. There will be many flags and other decorations by enthusiastic Canadians all over this country to mark this occasion.

This is the site of the old Blackfriars Railway Station opened in 1864
Connecting Charing Cross and London Bridge Stations on the S.E.R. Co. it was closed down after Five Years when Waterloo East was completed
World War II Blitz damage along with a direct hit on Blackfriars Road by a V2 Rocket completely destroyed the area around the Stations old entrance
Joint grant and funding in 2005 restored the Entrance and a complete Glass Frame Structure covering the wall was put in place (Now Removed) along with a Commemorative Plaque
Not bad for a Station that was only open for Five years nearly 150 years ago

This 12c stamp was issued in 1963 by the Netherlands to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Dutch independence from French rule (1813-1963).
It depicts the "Triumvirate of 1813" (Driemanschap): Gijsbert Karel van Hogendorp (left), Frans Adam van der Duyn van Maasdam (center), and Leopold van Limburg Stirum (right). These men initiated the restoration of Dutch sovereignty and invited Prince William of Orange-Nassau to return as the sovereign prince, who later became King William I.
I thought this house was painted to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday this year. Then I heard it's been painted, with our flag, for a decade. Oh well, at least this one thing is true. We will have a glow-in-the-dark silver coin for the occasion.
