From Paris (6km from La Defense)

Done with a Sony A7S + Tamron 150-600 at 600mm F6.3

Shutter speed : from 20s to 30s

120 photos stacked with Sequator

As the sky was terrible (a lot of light pollution and some mist) I decided to use B&W for this one.

I had never seen a summer plumage snow bunting and so when this one turned up close to home I had to go and see if I could find it Snow Buntings breed in the high Arctic among rocky crevices where their crisp white plumage blends in with the snowy landscape although a very few do breed in the high lands of Scotland . less than an hour before this was taken I photographed a Swallowtail Butterfly at Dungeness Dengemarsh that is a pair of images I would bet against being taken in the same day in Southern England .

This little male Pied Wagtail looks like he has been in quite a scrap and is missing the tips of two wing feathers .

The image was taken as he flew across the return trail where he was catching flies .

Non-breeding adult or immature at the Merced National Wildlife Refuge.

This Little owl is standing next to the owl pellet it has just disgorged . As large amount of the little Owls prey cannot be digested all the small bones wing cases etc are compressed in the gizzard and spat back out in the form of pellets Most common in central, southern and south eastern England,

these little owls are no taller than a starling . They live on

They're everywhere! They're everywhere! Well, just about everywhere. You'll find the eastern gray squirrel, Sciurus carolinensis, in deepest woods; you'll find them in the city. You might even find one nesting in your attic.

They're present throughout Florida, one of three squirrel species statewide. Their native range extends as far north as New Brunswick, Canada, west to Manitoba and south to Texas. Chances are, if you spot a squirrel in the United States east of the Mississippi, it's this guy. Through human intervention, they've invaded Britain and continental Europe, South Africa and Australia. Eastern gray squirrels also have introduced in places out west, including California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and British Columbia. They're a particular problem on Vancouver Island, where they pose a threat to the native squirrel population.

Eastern gray squirrels are serious hoarders, hiding away food in hundreds of caches for future snacking. They count on memory to find the general location of their stash and a strong sense of smell to find the particulars. In turn, squirrels are preyed upon by hawks, owls, raccoons, snakes, feral cats and dogs.

Their adaptability has allowed them to prosper in areas well outside their native range. Eastern gray squirrels were first introduced to Britain in 1876 and have become common in many places within the isles. Similar story in Italy.

In places, the gray squirrel's prosperity has come at the expense of native squirrels. In Europe, the gray squirrel is blamed for the local extinction of the red squirrel through competition and as a disease carrier. It's been nominated for inclusion on the list of the world's 100 worst invaders.

I found this invader in my backyard. Took the photo cause I liked the background.

A late afternoon pair at the Merced National Wildlife Refuge.

To go from a lake to another one these ducks could fly .... but they prefer to walk and they perfectly use the street, better than many humans, so funny ... try to watch that without laughing :)

Mars 2017:Grand Cormoran - Phalacrocorax carbo - Great Cormorant et l'oiseau de bois- wood bird

Feeding on Lobella cardinalis (red Cardinal plant)

This Cattle Egret was feeding among a group nearby cows at dengemarsh this evening .

Much rarer than the Little Egret, Cattle Egrets often spend time close to livestock eating insects and worms that their hooves disturb. Cattle egrets have a much shorter thicker bill than Little Egrets or Great Egrets .

San Louis National Wildlife Refuge.

The Sun in the middle of S'Estalella Lighthouse

Maybe one of the most beautiful birds that aren't too hard to photograph. However, at the location I went to, there were some problems which made my "hunt" quite challenging....one of them being the sun, which came out right in front of me. And there wasn't any way I could get the sun at my back without getting my photos with the sky as the background. And that, I didn't want. So I either had to wait until the sun got right on top and risk getting some more washed-out photos or wait until sunset....
