Today's story and sketch by me #1420, is a terrifying start to the holiday season. As you can see, I was taking a photo of Rex my pet Punk'n Spider, when there came such a clatter, and a blinding blue swirling dust cloud. As you our regular readers know, it could only be one thing, a Big Blue Dimension Dust Devil. For those of you who are not familiar with Worm Holes, Dimension Portals, or Dimension Dust Devils, which all have one thing in common. They defy reality, they can transport things, through time and space in only moments, moving anything from small moons, people or pets from one dimension to another, from one galaxy to another. On occasions moving objects past the edge of space, even beyond the last fish taco stand, at the end of this galaxy. When the clatter and dust began to settle, the Dust Devil Spit out what looks like a sleight, full of Zombie Holiday Creatures. Luckily the sleight object dropped to the ground between myself, Rex, and the Banana Palm. They all seemed to have only a few bruises, not bad considering they may have traveled through many dimensions, and multiple galaxies. Where the Zombie Revelers were, when they were captured by the Dust Devil, will have to be a story for another time, until then Tata the Rod Blog.

Rising above Moura's old town on a limestone plateaux are the ruins of a once grand castle. The medieval Castelo de Moura was built by King Dom Dinis in the 13th century on the site of an earlier Moorish citadel. There is evidence that the site is even older than this suggesting there was originally an Iron Age hill fort here.
The medieval castle was a mixture of old and new including the remains of the Moorish castle and a new watchtower, the remains of which can be seen today. One of the original Moorish towers remained; the Salúquia tower, named after princess Salúquia, the daughter of the Muslim governor Abu Hassan. It is said that when the christians reconquered the town she threw herself from the top of this tower.
Over subsequent years the castle was further expanded and fortified.
During the 16th century the convent of Nossa Senhora da Assunção was incorporated into the castle grounds, being built on the site of the earlier Moorish mosque. It is said that the convent was home to the tombs of Pedro and Álvaro Rodrigues who were responsible for the reconquest of Moura from the Moors.
The castle was almost destroyed during the Spanish War of Succession under the command of the Duke of Osuna in 1707. Further damage was caused by the 1755 earthquake leaving the Moura Castle in ruins.

For the last three years, on the first day of Spring, I've followed one of London's many brooks. Starting from where it outflows and tracing it right back to where it rises.
Today's story and sketch by me #1421, is a tale about how I was startled by a commuter pod, that dropped out of a Big Blue Dimension Dust Devil, only moments ago. I was where you see me, just about to get a photo of one of our Beautiful Budahunga Sunrises, over Lake Woonuu. Lake Woonuu is a small lake, that we the Deputies and pedestrians, stay very clear of, because of the unfriendly Woonuu alligators, that the lake is named after. I actually had just posted more gator warning signs a few hundred yards from the lake. The reason for the long distance, is because on land the Gators can Sprint at 30 miles an hour for a hundred yards, if they see anything that looks like food, but then they have to rest for an hour or more. As I was saying, just as I took the photo, the Swirling Blue Dust Devil, spit the commuter pod out, and spun away into the sky. The pedestrian has a familiar look, like he could be a Zombie Santa, and his Elf Zombie Helper. Where they came from, which galaxy, in what dimension, if he is Santa, with a helper, could be an interesting story for another time, until then Tata the Rod Blog
