Nürnberg, 1 September 1989
The Canadian Forces in West Germany had two Dash 8s, also known as CC-142. This is 142801 that flew from Lahr between 1987 and 1993.
We discovered the plane at Nürnberg airport and took a photo through glass.

Seen on route 142 in Bushey Heath.
I went to Bushey Heath in January 2018 to capture the final days of Arriva on route 142. Shortly after, the remaining Garston routes were transferred to Palmers Green (where route 340 remains today) and Garston Bus Garage was closed.
VLA123 was an unusual one - the only 05-plate VLA of the batch at Garston and the only to have the older Volvo dash. The bus (I believe) was victim to an engine fire which meant it was rebuilt; when it came back into service, lo and behold, it had full e-leather seating and white grab poles as on Arriva's provincial MAX specification! No doubt this came as a surprise to the punters around Harrow, Edgware and Brent Cross.

Plenty of nearsides can be done during the morning for the "new" electric E400s on the 142. Easier also due to them sporting mobitec Electronic displays rather than the Hanovers you see nowadays with new buses.
They were originally destined for the 204 but now reside on the 142 due to them being too long for the earlier route. The 204 will instead have new Wright Electroliners.
142 - Oblast Kemerowo
In recent years I've been reading about the Peking-Paris Rally from time to time and was thrilled with the number of vehicles from all over the world taking part. Unfortunately, I haven't yet managed to "fit in" the rally somewhere or to wait for the whole convoy in Paris. Fortunately this participant seems to like Prague very much and to spend more time there. I profited from it, because it was the first time I could admire a participant of this rally up close and collect a new Russian code on top of that.

96 two-car units were built between 1985-1987 by British Rail Engineering Limited at Derby in association with Leyland Vehicles Limited. The last were withdrawn at the end of 2020.
