Out of curiosity I tested it with my power meter. It idles at 140 watts and loads at 270 watts+. Shortly after turning it on for the first time I received a letter of complaint from CERN, who told me that it was interfering with their gravity experiments. Also, some rabbits in my garden died.

Way back in the early 2000s I wheedled myself into the periphery of hipsterville, but there was a glass wall between us; they had money, I did not.

I always wondered at the time if I could have been one of them, if only I hadn't been poor, and when of these G4s popped up on ebay for £10 I decided to have a go, viz the music, which is a generic and pretty dull imitation of mid-2000s rave. It would have seemed years out of date in the age of Boards of Canada and Autechre etc, but, dammit, I tried.
The problem is that poverty isn't just one aspect of a man's life, it's ingrained, and although I might have been able to emulate a narrow slice of the young middle-class lifestyle, the rest of it - e.g. the house, the job, the money, the assured future, the year in Thailand with a job waiting at the end of it, the work ethic, getting up in the morning etc - would remain out of my reach.
Sequenced with Logic Express 8; the instruments are mostly audio performed live with a MicroKorg and a ThinkPad X61, although I could have used samples instead. Contains a big sample of Ashera: Colour Glow. The 667mhz PowerBook is just powerful enough to run two simple VST/AU instruments at once but it can easily cope with samples.
From start to finish the process of learning about OS X, learning how to use Logic Express to a basic level, composing and recording the music to a point where further work would not justify the time took fourteen days.
Cover artwork for my new song "Destroying The Beauty" which is also the first tune I'm releasing of the new album I'm currently working on. The new album however has no title or artwork yet but I hope I'll finish it in the next few weeks.
