In the summer of 2010 there was still a handful of Rio Grande and Southern Pacific painted locomotives to be found at the latter's shops in Roseville, California. Here UP GP40-2 1347, ex-DRGW 3110, spends the evening in bay 7 as shop personnel make their inspections.

Today's story and sketch by me #1347, you see George a member of the, "MCPPOTG" Man Cave Protectors Of The Galaxy. George was originally from the Planet Mankee, located somewhere in dimension seven. I Deputized George soon after his Spacecraft crash landed on this Tropical Volcanic Planet we call Budahunga. George has proven to be our best tracker, of pedestrians, aliens or whatever types of beings that are plopped, or dropped, from a mysterious worm hole, a stargate, or sucked into Budahunga's gravity and crash landed. They are mostly terrified and go running to hide in the Budahunga Badlands or Jungle. When we learn a spacecraft has crashed, or a wormhole, Stargate, or time portal, has stranded someone or something, on Budahunga, George is sent out to locate and rescue the pedestrian, the him's, her's or what's. Just who or what George located, then lost will have to be a story for another time, until then Tata the Rod Blog.

A very rare sight nowadays, a 190 taxi...

Delivered to the USCG in 1962 and retired to AMARC in 1982. It was then officially transferred to the USAF, no doubt for parts reclamation. Also seen here are some othe USCG C-130s, Sikorsky HH-52 Seaguards, early "tall tail" B-52s and a couple of RB-57 Canberras.

Op 28 mei ging de bedevaartstrein 13242 terugkomen van Lourdes naar Maastricht. Hij zou rijden via de grensovergang van Erquelinnes en dan Charleroi, Namen, Luik, Visé en uiteindelijk Maastricht. Dat was natuurlijk veel te ver voor ons om hem te gaan fotograferen, en bovendien stond de zon nergens goed.

Maar rond 10 uur 's morgens zagen we dat hij wegens de stakingen (die in Wallonië veel erger zijn dan in Vlaanderen) werd omgeleid, en toen werd het plots wel interessant: hij werd naar Brussel gestuurd langs lijn 124, en dan via lijn 36 naar Leuven en Luik. Daar stond de zon wel goed, en we besloten last-minute om toch nog te gaan kijken.

En nadat hij de grens was overgekomen, wist blijkbaar niemand meer waar hij moest gaan rijden! Ineens werd hij ook nog omgeleid langs Ottignies (waardoor hij nog eens 45 minuten vertraging bij maakte) en vervolgens ging hij Brussel-Noord binnen. Dat was erg bizar, want hij was binnengekomen langs de noordkant, en om naar Leuven te gaan, moet hij eveneens langs de noordkant buitenrijden. Er waren 3 opties: keren en naar lijn 36, iedereen laten uitstappen en direct ledig naar Oostende, of het ringspoor van lijn 28 nemen via Brussel-West. Gelukkig voor ons deed hij dat laatste, want anders waren we voor niets naar hier gereden.

Hij reed dus door naar Brussel-Zuid, dan Brussel-West en na nog een stop van de trein in Leuven konden we hem hier toch fotograferen.
