Enjoying The Sun..
In late October Karen and I made our way to the park to get some fabulous fall shots.
As we crossed the main parking lot in the main area of the park we noticed the sky had started to clear up and the clouds were beginning to break up and the ones behind us looked like angels wings extended... Karen posed to emphasize the effect.

LZ-VEB Antonov AN-12BK Vega Air Company (operating for Scorpion Air at the time). Now with ATMA as UP-AN212. Flown by Aeroflot and Ural Airlines before being delivered to Vega in December 1999 (slide scan from my collection - not taken by myself).
RA-12999 Antonov AN-12BK Ural Airlines - the only AN12 in Ural's inventory - shortly before being sold of to Vega Air as LZ-VEB. Last with ATMA as UP-AN212.

12999 Torun (1981 QJ2) is a main-belt asteroid discovered on August 30, 1981, by Edward Bowell at the Anderson Mesa Station of the Lowell Observatory. It has an orbital period of 1252.3536421 days (3.43 years).
The asteroid was renamed in 2008 after the city of Toruń, Poland. Toruń is the birthplace of Nicolaus Copernicus, a very important place in Polish and European history (with the UNESCO World Heritage listed Old Town), and the main site of the Nicolaus Copernicus University (with its astronomy observatory at Piwnice, the largest in Poland).*

Departing Pigs Eye yard at St. Paul, MN on 10-14-1973, this pure Milwaukee Road consist will head west with a long freight train. What catches your eye, is the brilliant EMD FP7 trailing in the locomotive consist, most likely almost worn out after two decades at the head of passenger trains. She was retired in April of 1978. Two GP20’s rebuilt from GP9’s lead two straight GP9’s approach Dayton’s Bluff on this stunning fall day. And for you freight car buffs, the 12626 is a Pullman-Standard 50 foot plug-sliding door box car built in the early 1960’s from the 12500-12999 XL series.

For instance, every day at dawn, monks walk the streets with alms bowls in their hands.
In Buddhist cities like Chiang Mai, Thailand, those monks are met by local devotees; each offering a donation.
Now, imagine that ritual and multiply it by 12,999 monks.
Every December, monks from all around Thailand converge on Chiang Mai to celebrate the Buddha’s enlightenment and receive alms from tens of thousands of devotees.

New to Aeroflot 3/71 re-registered to RA-12999 by 3/93.
She was w/off 16/7/22 near Kavala Greece registered UR-CIC Meridian Airlines on a flight from Nis Serbia via Amman for Dhaka, crew reported an engine failure and was diverting to Kavala airport, crashed short of the runway exploding on impact she was loaded with ammunition and mortar shells.

Vega Airlines was a Bulgarian cargo airline based in Sofia and based at Plovdiv Airport, operating 6 Antonov An-12s.
Vega Airlines was founded in 1998 and offered charter flights primarily to Europe and the Middle East. On February 21, 2007, Vega Airlines, along with four other Bulgarian companies, was included in the list of operating bans for European Union airspace and the Bulgarian Aviation Authority banned flights into or over EU territory from then on.
Vega Airlines has been trading as Cargo Air since November 2007.
LZ-VEB (An-12B c/n 01 34 77 01) was delivered to Aeroflot as CCCP-12999 in January 1971. In October 1990 it was leased to Balkan as 12999. Returned to Aeroflot as RA-12999 in March 1993, in December 1995 the plane was sold to Ural Airlines as 4K-12999 but in September 1996 it returned RA-12999. Vega acquired the plane in September 1999 as LZ-VEB. IN May 2002 it was leased to Scorpion Air until March 2003. Retired in July 2007, in September 2007 it was sold to ATMA as UN-11019, re-registered UP-AN212 in July 2008. In December 2014 the aircraft was sold to Grodno as EW-435TI.
