Shot 2 of 6 in this series.
This is my Vest Pocket Kodak folding camera which was manufactured in 1915 by Eastman Kodak in Rochester, N.Y.
This camera was especially popular among WWI soldiers because it was lightweight (not much bigger than today's pocket cameras) and it had a stylus which they could use to record notes on the back paper of each frame on the roll.
It was the first camera to use Kodak's popular small No. 127 roll film (as opposed to the larger No. 127 rolls) - taking 8, 1 ⅝" x 2 ½" photos per roll.
For exposure settings, the camera could shoot shutter speed of 1/25, 1/50, B and T as well as auto time settings. The aperture could be set between F6.3 and F11.
When bought from a Kodak dealer, this camera came with a slew of handy accessories, including a close-up lens, color filter with instructions, the No. 127 autographic film, an instruction book, negative album for 100 exposures and a case.
In a nutshell, it was a very innovative and practical camera.
When compared to today's pocket camera's, it's interesting to see how some things changed, and many things remain the same.
Serial no. 12534.
