First South Yorkshire ADL Enviro 400 SL14DFK (33862) seen as it passes Park Library on Duke Street in Sheffield whilst operating the 13:13 Fulwood-Crystal Peaks 120.
The 120 is a joint operation between First and Stagecoach with a common section between Ranmoor and Crystal Peaks Mon-Sat daytimes and along the full route between Fulwood and Halfway evenings and Sundays. Both operators provide a bus every 12 minutes which should give an even six minute headway however Stagecoach are currently operating a Saturday service during the week as a result of driver shortages, giving a slightly uneven frequency. Hybrid YN62BVS (12169) is consequently only a few hundred yards behind the slightly late 33862 in this shot. The 120 number was traditionally a Stagecoach/Terrier service, with First's offering on this corridor latterly taking the form of the 40 and 42 before the Sheffield Bus Partnership changes of October 2015.

The tip of the left fluke is missing on this otherwise happy healthy Humpback. How did the whale lose it? I didn’t ask because I did not want the whale to feel self-conscious. But I did stare.
This is CRC 12169, a whale that travels between Monterey Bay and Baja California and has been seen as far south as Nayarit in January three years ago.
