The past several weeks I've had -- no exaggeration -- eight cameras with film in them at the same time. So I've been slow to work through them. But today I got developed the roll of Kodak Pro Image 100 that I had loaded in my "new" Mamiya U camera. A trouble with having a lot of loaded cameras is that you forget which film is in what camera. I had the Mamiya U set at 400 because I thought I had my long-expired Supra 800 film in it. So everything was underexposed by a couple of stops. Too bad because this camera is not bad and I'm looking forward to using it again.
The Mamiya U is a simple camera, a cross between the Olympus XA-inspired clamshell cameras of the early 1980s and the blocky Kodak-like P&S cameras with built-in flashes of the same time. It has a fast Sekor f/2.8 35mm lens which doesn't seem to be too bad. It has zone focussing and the ability to set focus between the detents.
Here is a vantage point I have taken pictures from many times before, just outside my office at work.
I'm down to three cameras now with film in them.
1540: Donaumasten sind die am weitesten verbreitete Bauform für Hochspannungsmasten in den alten Bundesländern. Sie tragen bei voller Beseilung 6 Leiterseile für zwei dreipolige Drehstromkreise, die sich auf zwei Traversen verteilen: zwei auf einer kürzeren oberen, vier auf einer längeren unteren. Im Regelfall haben Donaumasten - so wie dieser - eine einfache Spitze, auf der das Erdseil, das als Blitzableiter und fallweise als Kommunikationsleitung zwischen Umspannwerken dient, geführt wird. Wird ein stärkerer Blitzschutz benötigt, so erhalten die Masten eine zusätzliche Erdseiltraverse für zwei Erdseile oder eine V-förmige Spitze. Der abgebildete Mast steht auf dem Gelände des kleinen Umspannwerkes Wilhelmshaven-Rüstersiel am rechten Ufer der Maade unweit ihrer Mündung in die Jade nördlich des Stadtzentrums von Wilhelmshaven. Hier endet eine kurze Leitung vom jenseits der Maade direkt an ihrer Mündung gelegenen älteren der beiden Kraftwerke in Wilhelmshaven. Sie umfasst nur einen Stromkreis und hat daher nur 3 Leiterseile, weshalb der Donaumast nur einseitig beseilt ist.

This Alco RS1 was built in September 1949 as SI 202 (c/n 77168), acquired by the UP on October 6, 1958. It was leased by the UP, repainted and renumbered into the UP system roster. It had a turbocharged six cylinder McIntosh & Seymour model 539 diesel prime mover, producing 1000 horsepower. It was traded to EMD on October 9, 1969.
