Now an image from last summer...
We always have lots of rabbits in our yard, resulting in some chewed-off flowers :(
But that is balanced out by all the photographic opportunities it gives me to capture them as they feed and hop around.
This young bunny is so small that the blades of grass half cover it. You can also see here some of the white clover flowers that it was nibbling on.
Enjoy, and have a great weekend, everyone.

Rather cold that day, and others, taken down at the beach at Prestwick.
On a different tack, I thought I would upload this film photo just now before the hay bale season was gone. Taken on my old 1964 Russian Zorki-6 35mm film camera a few months ago..... had to fit an ND4 filter to the lens as it was too bright, although it was cloudy, to slow down the shutter speed to 1/200th...

Had to use an ND4 filter on the Zeiss Ikon Nettar as the sun came out a bit at Dunure and with 200 ISO film, it was too much speed for the camera.
Went out over a month ago now with my old Zeiss Ikon Nettar medium format film camera for a change... and over 2 days managed to use up the 12 photo film... started at Dunure again but tried to look for long exposures rather than snaps.... this was my first more to make sure the film had wound on....
DaishÅ-in or DaisyÅ-in is a historic Japanese temple complex with many temples and statues on Mount Misen, the holy mountain on the island of Miyajima, off the coast of Hatsukaichi, Hiroshima, Japan. It is the 14th temple in the ChÅ«goku 33 Kannon Pilgrimage and famous for the maple trees and their autumn colors. It is also called "SuishÅ-ji". Including Mt. Misen, DaishÅ-in is within the World Heritage Area of Itsukushima Shrine.
In this temple there is a flame which is said to have been burning since its foundation, for more than 1200 years.
The 14th Dalai Lama visited Itsukushima to celebrate the 1200th-year of DaishÅ-in from 3 to 8 November 2006

East of Macomb, Illinois near the intersection of Highway 136 and County Rd 2000 E is a cluster of four grain storage bins and a tall pine... the one in this picture. I had walked down the blacktop a couple dozen steps from the bins and took the shot across a soybean field.

Chicken Tonight ?
"Jaws the fox" tucking into some raw chicken - seems to be stuck on the paving slab but he is not too bothered about the flash lights or any shutter sounds and now scoops up several pieces of meat in one go despite me chopping them up to get more shots !!
Got the camera box lined up with the centre of the paving slot, this is the nearest I have got the subject to the camera and is so accustomed to it I get several shots each time he arrives.
Camera info:- Nikon D750 just over 2 metres from subject , set on manual with Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 @ f/6.3, ISO 1600, shutter 1/200, focal length 38 mm.
Camera shutter triggered by extended cable release.
Flash lights then fired by Yongnuo 602's to fire one Nikon SB900 flash light 3 metres at 30 degrees on the right, on 1/32 power about 3 ft high on light stand.
Second Nikon SB 900 around the left of the front porch at one metre high, 3 metres from subject and at 45 degrees on 1/64 power.

A rework of one of the images - the fox family that turned up in my garden in 2020 lockdown - seen here the vixen on the lookout for food. It is probably no coincidence that a chicken run is two doors away.
Image shot at night - I am indoors watching the infrared night vision cctv on a TV screen with the remote trigger in my hand ready to fire if the fox gets in the right location to be in focus.
No way would auto-focus work on these foxes as no light until the low power flashlights power on.
This fox is quite beautiful compared with some that visit the garden.
Image info :- Nikon D750 with Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 manual focus, ISO 1600, aperture f/6.3, focal length 48mm, camera on manual settings 1/200th second shutter speed,
Camera shutter triggered by extended cable release.
Flash lights then fired by Yongnuo 602's to fire one Nikon SB900 flash light 3 metres at 30 degrees on the right, on 1/32 power about 3 ft high on light stand with fine grid in light modifier.
Second Nikon SB 900 around the left of the front porch at one metre high, 3 metres from subject and at 45 degrees on 1/64 power with a fine grid on front.
A few more tweaks - changed lens to Nikon 50mm f1.4 but big gain has been arranging some left over York paving stones with gaps between to hide the food snippets and badger & fox nuts. This allowed longer visits to the focus area.
But a new issue has been getting a clearly focussed shot of the cubs because they dart around quickly are pretty small and their fur is very soft anyway.
But I have a limited around 500mm depth of field and have to fix the focus before each session so don't have the luxury of auto-focus.
Gazza kindly pointed this out in the previous shot the cub moved too quickly and as is a bit soft in focus.
Catch 22 is I cannot increase the shutter speed as the Yongnuo triggers for the flash are fine for 1/200 but not so good at 1/250 shutter speed, but it might be worth a try. Do not want to increase the ISO really from 1600 to 2000 but these are both options. Increasing the flash output might disturb the foxes is also not feasible.
Camera info:-
Nikon D750 at 1.8 metres from subject {on manual}
Nikon 50mm f/1.4 @ f/6.3,
ISO 1600,
Shutter 1/200,
Focal length 50 mm.
Camera shutter triggered by very long cable release.
Nikon SB900 flash lights, Yongnuo 602's to fire Nikon strobes.
A. Nikon SB900 flash light "A" bare head, 8 metres at 45 degrees to the right of shed, on 1/16 power and 1.8 metres high on light stand to light shed and greenery.
B. Nikon SB 900 "B" key light, on the right at 1 metre high, 3.6 metres from subject and at 45 degrees on 1/32 power with a fine grid on front.
C. Nikon SB900 "C" fill light on the left at 45 degrees to fill in light - low setting of 1/64 power, fine grid on front, on manual, 3metres from subject.

Out on a rare visit to the dock area inhabited by the swans and cygnets I have followed since last May '09 I found them in an area they rarely visit !
Stopping to feed them and observe four little tufted ducks (who are divers, not bread eaters) a mist came in from the river as the air temperature changed, after a short while previously unseen tiny spider webs (palm of a hand size) became visible as the mist settled on the webs in tiny water droplets !
The magic of nature ~ On Black
Despite a gentle breeze and not having a tripod I was quite pleased to obtain this shot by something I call " Adapt and Overcome " !
I chose a web in a corner of the dockside railings which became protected from the breeze by my kneeling body (6 secs to get down, 60 secs to get back up) !
From this I asked a rare passer-by if he would hold my coat over the railings (pleading with him not to drop the coat in the dock) to give me a dark back drop as without there was no shot against the vastness of the dock water ~
Thankfully he agreed and what you see is what you get ! (WYSIWYG)

The Kyoto Station building was constructed on the 1200th anniversary of the capitalās foundation in Kyoto. The building's futuristic design and atmosphere was conceived by the Japanese architect Hara Hiroshi. Hara's design attempts to convey historical Kyoto through a modern aesthetic.
Kyoto, of course, is a favourite destination for many tourists including myself. If you are keen on modern architecture and happen to be in Japan, I would highly recommend visiting. There is so much to see and it can take time to absorb. I would have loved to spend more time at the station with my camera, but I am pleased with this photo.

Waiting, waiting and waiting for a juvenile giraffe to venture out from the safety of its pen/shed this just caught my eye for both the look and standing next to height marker !
The giraffe is an African even-toed ungulate mammal, the tallest of all land-living animal species, and the largest ruminant ! It is covered in large, irregular patches of yellow to black fur separated by white, off-white, or dark yellowish brown background ! It is approximately 4.3 metres (14 ft) to 5.2 metres (17 ft) tall, although the tallest male recorded stood almost 6 metres (20 ft) !
The giraffe is related to deer and cattle, but is placed in a separate family, the Giraffidae, consisting of only the giraffe and its closest relative, the okapi !
Giraffes usually inhabit savannas, grasslands, or open woodlands !However, when food is scarce they will venture into areas with denser vegetation ! They prefer areas with plenty of acacia growth ! They will drink large quantities of water when available which enables them to live for extended periods in dry, arid areas !
Getting closer to the camera now quite happy for flash lights to trigger off and gets rewarded with some little treats of food.
Camera info:- Nikon D750 just over 2 metres from subject , set on manual with Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 @ f/6.3, ISO 1600, shutter 1/200, focal length 38 mm.

Feuchtwangen is a city in Ansbach district in the administrative region of Middle Franconia in Bavaria, Germany with around 12,000 citizens and 137km² of landmass making it the biggest city in the Ansbach district by Population and Landmass. In the year 2019 Feuchtwangen celebrated its 1200th jubilee based on the first mention of its Benedictine monastery
Time to wind down and give everyone a rest from the endless fox images. This is one of my favourites.
I have been really lucky with getting the very close images in very good clarity.
Jaws has been a very obliging model and is a beautiful animal with excellent coat and tolerated the flash lights.
Seen here with skilful hunting ability to move paving stones around to seek what is hidden from view.
There is a neat set laid out for them each evening but in the morning it looks like a riot has taken place with stones scattered around!!
Many thanks folks for all the faves and comments previously, glad you liked them.
Still collecting cctv video footage and this may result in a second film in the future.
Going to have a rest now, back soon in a while.
All the best Jerry
