Un frammento di Liguria che ogni tanto, graditamente, ritorna! La stazione di Santo Stefano di Magra, capolinea per i servizi da e per Genova, Savona e Ventimiglia, non ospitava un complesso di "Fanta" da almeno due anni, silenzio rotto questo pomeriggio dallo sferragliare di uno degli ultimissimi complessi ancora circolanti del Deposito di Genova, ancora con i respingenti tradizionali. Il Regionale 11209 proveniente da Ventimiglia effettua il suo ingresso in deviata sul primo binario a velocità ridotta, con la luce del sole ormai prossima a tramontare, quasi a simboleggiare il canto del cigno di queste gloriose elettromotrici ultraquarantenni, le quali, onestamente, continuano a svolgere il proprio lavoro, anche con servizi di "tappabuco" come in questo caso, quando il materiale ordinario non è disponibile.
Il complesso era formato dalle testate ALe 940 003 e 008, inquadranti due rimorchiate Le 108 (032 e 019)

Mechanical Menu posted a picture with a breakdown on how to use the chrome dishes as rims for a fancy car.
Until now I've only used them in a Febrover, so I tried to incorporate his idea into my old 1967 Mustang fom ZetoVince.
Did not work, the friction between the two tyres (inner and outer) is too low to keep anything in place for real - you need a stud on the axle. And also that tiny rim is too thick.

Im Fühjahr diesen Jahres wurde die dem Bw Kempten zugehörige 218 446-3 nach Siegen in Westfalen überstellt um optisch wieder in den Auslieferungszustand von 1977 versetzt zu werden. Der Wechsel von verkehrsrot in ozeanblau-beige ist hervorragend gelungen und so freute ich mich sehr, als ich diese schöne Lok inmitten einer frühlingshaften Blumenwiese bei Kottgeiseruing fotografieren konnte, als sie mit ihrem RegionalExpress 57414 nach Memmingen vorbeidieselte.
In the first months of 2020 Kempten's 218 446-3 was taken to Siegen in Westphalia to receive its original livery from 1977 in ocean blue and beige. Fortunately, I had the chance to take this (my first pic of the new design) picture of the beautiful engine which was hauling RE 57414 to Memmingen through a meadow full of spring flowers.

It also gave him enhanced strength, and slowed down the rate at which he ages. They fell in love, and moved to America, in search of the next Big Game.

The original plan was to photograph the new color work on Jesi's full back tattoo, but the session had been complex (due to an allergic reaction to lotion after the previous session), and so it wasn't looking all that swell just yet.
But I was there, and digital is free, so shoot we did. Both she and her roommate are easy on the eyes, so I didn't mind changing up the plan a bit. Gave me a chance to play around with the digital, see what it was capable of. And Jesi, a photographer herself, was more than happy to oblige me while I stumbled my way through my first digital shoot.

Right after posting my previous image this morning, I decided to ignore the clouds and mist and head out to the local refuge. I'm nursing a migraine [again] but a quick trip out to take pics helped. Explore 1/12/09.
This time last year we must have had a vole explosion, because hawks were everywhere...this year...not so much. But I did see quite a few herons and an otter family [to be posted later].
