De 1107 was naast de 1136 een van de laatste 1100’en bij NS aan het eind van de jaren negentig. Hier komt de loc met een IC naar Venlo aan in een ijzig Tilburg in januari 1999.
Transito presso Lama (RO) per la D.345.1107 di Mercitalia Rail in livrea originale, impegnata al traino dei carri vuoti provenienti dallo stabilimento della Geotec S.R.L. di Cavanella Po, in servizio con l'MRV 53610 per Rovigo. Il convoglio proseguirà poi verso Venezia Marghera Scalo con una locomotiva elettrica.

A two frame panorama of Cotopaxi in the morning. It was obscured by the cloud moving in from the left at dawn. After a hurried breakfast, the cloud from the left cleared for a short while and the capping 'sombrero' formed. Cotopaxi is venting some steam from the top and it is cascading down to the right. Again there is some sort of air mass convergence going on with the cloud on the right behaving differently to the cloud on the left. Chilcabamba, Ecuador.

In today's upload I'm catching up on recent, miscellaneous images. This one is from two nights ago, when a terrific storm rolled through southwestern Saskatchewan. As it approached, I shut down my computer and took a drive to intercept it. Set up near these abandoned farm buildings just as the lightning began to strike. I was able to shoot from the relative safety of my car, with the 18-105mm and a polarizer, aperture at f/11 and shutter on "B". Tripod, cable release, focus on infinity. ISO 200. Shortly after I made this shot, the rain began, hard and windblown, and it became impossible to keep my lens clear.

Seaboard Air Line SDP35 1107 at Hialeah, Florida on March 20, 1965, Kodachrome by Kenneth M. Ardinger, Chuck Zeiler collection. Built as number 1107 in September 1964 (c/n 29346) on EMD Order 7734, powered by the 567D3A 16-cylinder turbocharged diesel, it appears it was later numbered to SCL 608, then SCL 1958, then L&N 7040, then L&N/SBD/CSXT 4545. A total of 35 SDP35's were built between July 1964 and September 1965, all equipped with a steam generator at the rear, resulting in a squared off hood end and the rear steps became vertical, more like a ladder than stairs. The SAL owned 20 of these, originally numbered 1100-1119.
