This species of Nepenthes is easily identified by its narrow waist. It produces copious nectar which appears as a white crystalline exudate on the underside of the lid. Apparently this species receives its nutrients from the droppings of tree shrews and occasionally birds, which come to feed on the nectar, not from catching insects.
