A long weekend down in Kent / Sussex produced a mixture of fabulously warm and sunny weather and, more typical for the time of year, dull days with a biting wind. One of the sunnier days was last Friday, which also came with some early morning mist to add to the atmosphere.
In this shot, framed by the signal gantry, a Southeastern 10-car train catches the sun trying to break through as it approaches Sevenoaks station with the 9.51am Tunbridge Wells - London Charing Cross (2H74).
Built by GEC Alsthom at the Metro-Cammell plant in Birmingham, 2-car 'Networker' unit 466009 is leading, with a pair of 4-car class 465s, units 465927 and 465931, on the back.
Looks best full-screen.
Apologies for tardy responses recently - should catch up over the next couple of days.

This was one of my very first award winning slide shots taken about 17 years ago just a few 100 yards from home on a very cold and foggy winters morning, taken on fujichrome sensia 100asa slide film and scanned in! the title came from that 10mph sign on the right had side the judges liked that at the time!

Premier sport fish are bred and raised at Gaden Trout Hatchery. The Gaden Trout Hatchery, located on the Thredbo River near Jindabyne, is one of Australia's main centres for breeding and rearing cold water sport fish. Four species of fish are produced at Gaden: Atlantic salmon, brook trout, brown trout, and rainbow trout. Visitors can view feeding of the big fish that come to the surface in some of the brood stock ponds, watch a 10 minute video that outlines the purpose and operations of the hatchery, and go for a walk around the grounds with one of the experienced hatchery staff. Guided tours of the hatchery are conducted 10am and 2pm daily. Gaden Trout Hatchery has over one hectare of parkland on the banks of the Thredbo River. 27527

9.10am on a glorious Saturday 17th April 2021 at Loughborough Central, Great Central Railway (GCR) Leicestershire sees the days' first locomotive movements following the resumption of the restricted weekend passenger services from Quorn and Woodhouse to Leicester North - following the easing of the COVID restrictions. Indeed a 'Historical Moment'!
Pictured is Riddles designed BR Standard 9F 2-10-0 No. 92214 Leicester City moving off from the water tower having 'Topped Up' for its first duties. Its en route to collect its empty 'Sanitised' coaching stock from Platform 1 - before departing one half hour later to Quorn and Woodhouse to collect its exciting and expectant passengers for day's first service train one hour later.

Tomorrow is the #MRSL2020 Grand Finale and I can’t believe it! It feels like a long time coming, but so fast at the same time!
And. What. A. Journey. It. Has. Been. I am probably the happiest I’ve ever been living my Second Life during these past months competing. Never been this creatively challenged & pushed to be better every single time. And coming with zero experience makes it that much more thrilling for me to see & compare where I am now. Who would’ve thought that CHASE could be an actual blogger, taking fancy pictures and walking down runways in fancy clothes?! *AND* I made such amazing friends along the way! All thanks to this competition and MISS SL Organization
As cliche as it may sound, for me, this really does show that if you open yourself up to new challenges, new people and allow yourself to learn from them, you really are able to GROW. So whatever the result, it really becomes secondary to just that. A crown to go with it will be icing on the tastiest ice cream peanut butter cake in the tri-state area 😋
So wish me luck guys! The photo is a recap of all my looks, BUT, we’re gonna be presenting 3 more in the finale: National Costume, Swimwear (uuulala) & Formalwear! GET EXCITED YALL 🔥🙈🙌 SATURDAY 10am SLT ❤️💕
Style credits per outfit & theme (left-right):

About 10am I was taking Millie for her walk and I heard the whistle and engine noise of The Bath Market Express approaching the tunnel, by chance I was by the station when it returned in the evening but without my tripod an action shot of the engine was limited, indeed I was lucky to get any shot because an express train going the opposite way went through the station and blocked the view, it cleared the station just as the steam train arrived.

10am here, blowing snow in a bitter wind and dark as night, but exultant inside as the votes in Georgia continue to roll in... feeling brighter already
In Thai is Kwan Phayao.
Phayao has one of the most serene lake in Thailand. This picture was taken on 2.Dec.2012 at 10am.
It was created using the blending of 3 HDRs generated by Photomatix Pro HDR, namely Details Enhancer, Tone Compressor and Exposure Fusion.
Today was really a waterpark day and not much for trains with the cold, cloudy day. While out driving around, I heard the K39 get a warrant to leave Marquette and decided to make a trip out of it. For the most part, it was nice to see some old countryside we haven't seen in a while, but the last 30 minutes came thru, and a couple of keepers were had. The K39 is working west on the Mason City Sub with a 10am crew out of Dubuque that won't make MC by 10 pm tonight. While the clouds sucked for the most part, it was just right here at Ossian!
'Round about 10am every morning, give-or-take 45 minutes, the Hogwarts Express runs over this viaduct. Rumor has it that wizards and such are on the train. I'm not sure about that but I did see the train!
Yet another flat grey and cool wet day - but I did get to Betty's for breakfast. First in the queue at 7 minutes to 10 (they do not open at 9 anymore). By 10am there were 20+ people behind me
Pool of Siloam, Katoomba, Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia
I make it a habit to review old photos from a year ago to see where I was and what I was shooting, and to see if there is anything from those photos that catches my eye.
A year ago I was in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney, photography some of the small waterfalls that appear after a rainy few days. We had those rainy days and then a couple of nice days after that.
This shot is of the Biblically named Pool of Siloam, where I spent about an hour shooting different angles of this stunning location, until the clearing skies and direct sunlight made it difficult to get the shots I was after, so I walked back up the 400 steps to the carpark.
I used a circular polarising (CPL) filter and a 6 stop ND filter on this shot. The ND filter allowed me to extend the shutter opening time to 30sec even though it was bright daylight (about 10am), and the CPL cut down the reflections from the wet rocks and water, and enhanced the colours of the bush. These 2 filters are a great combination for shooting waterfalls.
D800, ISO100, f11, 30sec, 23mm, CPL filter and Lee 6 stop ND Filter
Processed in Lightroom
This is another framing that i tried. Did a bit more postprocessing on this one to make it different from the previous one. This was again taken around 10am so quite bright conditions.
So many great memories (and photos) from my first trip to Door County Wisconsin. It will take me a while to process them all but I figure what better place to start than with sunrise on Day 1.
I made sure to get to the beach a good 45 minutes before sunrise. As I sat there a brisk wind whipped off Lake Michigan making for some nice white-caps and freezing my hands while my gloves sat warming the seat of my car. I couldn't possibly go get them and miss one second of the beauty in front of me.
This shot was taken at 7:10am. (EXIF says 08:10am but I forgot to change the camera clock to CST). I have tons of sunrise photos from that morning - here are a few, with more to follow.

April 10am hour. So far, this ominous sky's bark has been worse than its bite. Just a few sprinkles and that's it. Maybe more is on the way. We need more rain!
This was taken from the location of the former Iverson Movie Ranch. The big rocks in the foreground are called Garden of the Gods. Somewhere in there is the Lone Ranger Rock that was in its opening song. So many Westerns were filmed here. Bonanza, The Rifleman, Gunsmoke, Death Valley Days...loved them all!
I never knew Little Joe could sing!
