On July 9th, 2015, the Canons Regular of St. John Cantius organized a one-day pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help in Champion, WI.
The Shrine is the sight of the only Marian apparition in the USA that have been approved by the Church. In 1859, Our Lady appeared there to a Belgian girl, Adele Brise, encouraging her to pray for the conversion of sinners and to work for the salvation of souls. Consequently, Adele joined the Third Order of St. Francis and with a group of followers started teaching the Catholic faith to the local people.
The Shrine was miraculously saved from the terrible Peshtigo Fire in 1871. The apparitions were approved in 2010 by David Ricken, bishop of Green Bay.
