Built as the Old Men's House (Oudemannenhuis) in 1609, probably designed by Pieter van Campen, father of the world famous Jacob van Campen.
The (summer) time was 12:25 on my watch, so this sun dial must have been tuned to GMT.
It's my 10th week out of the 52 weeks challenge here on Flickr!! I'm so glad I've stuck with it so far because for me, commitments aren't my strongest trait haha. I've learned so much in these past couple of weeks and I can't wait to keep shooting and trying out different concepts and mediums. This picture is an accurate portrayal of the party going on in my head right now :)

Hey all! So I made it to 10 days…only 356 more to go! lol :) I went over to my mom’s place to do this photo planning on doing a full body shot (cause she has room in her house) and I ended up coming up with this idea after I read a quote and it resulted in an upper body photo..again lol. This shot is unedit and this is the image that came directly from my camera! I am learning to play with other light sources rather than strobe or ambient light and it is definitly teaching me much about how to light a photograph properly and not have to come home and find out I underexposed or overexposed a shot. It saves so much time to get it right the first time! And as Most of you have prob noticed, I post in the morning. Some of you might be asking ‘how can she get up before 10 each day, take the photo and have it online by 10?!?!” My Secret is I shoot the photo the day before. I am still doing one shot a day but shooting the day before and posting it in the morning lets me be able to let you all see my work and not have to wait till late in the evening each day to see my postings! So if I accidentely say “today, I did this photo..”, I mean yesterday! lol Another reason why I do this is if I am busy one day, I don’t have to worry about getting that shot as I already have it done! It’s just the way I have been ‘programmed’! lol i like to get things done so I don’t need to worry about them! Anyways, enough with my rant! Enjoy Day 10! :)

Saw this 'UP' in another shot I took earlier and went back for a closeup. Didn't see any balloons attached to it!

I think that is one of my most favorite lyrics to exist. 10 days into this project and it doesn't seem I have failed it...though there are 355 days to come. I have an entire laundry list of concepts and ideas on a notepad and I check one off when I do actually execute it...this photo was not on the list of ideas but I do like it.

For my fourth 10 by 10 I focused on Nomade, the best known of the sculptures in the Pappajohn Sculpture Garden. I was lucky to get a cloudless day on one of my visits, which lent itself to a nice high contrast black and white. This is one of the most photographed sites in Des Moines so it was a bit hard to come up with some new takes.
