In January, a visit was organised to the Oxford University Museum of Natural History. A member of the museum staff gave us an excellent guided tour of the building and its collections, including areas not open to the public. It was fascinating to see the room where the famous “Evolution Debate” took place in 1860 following the publication of Darwin’s “Origin of Species” and involving the heated exchanges between Thomas Huxley and Bishop Wilberforce.
