BNSF Z-AUGSBD with NS 1069, the Virginian heritage unit in the lead at Dunn, MO.

With the announcement that NS is going to discontinue service on it's P-D Sub.,on 10-1-15., I decide to post this photo taken on 8-25-13 of an Eastbound crossing Garwood trestle East of Elmore, WVa.. Only three of us got this photo, probably to never be repeated. Good bye Virginian, we'll miss you.

Virginian Heritage unit 1069 is the west facing helper on an eastbound stacker as it pushes through the old coal town of Keystone, West Virginia in mid March 2015.

NS #1069 leads 11Z south at Yatesville with a large cut of trash up front.

Norfolk Southern gathered their then-new heritage units at the North Carolina Transportation Museum in July 2012 to show them off to several thousand visitors who attended over the 4th of July weekend.

15.11.2020, Gliwice

NS 11Z comes south over the Nicholson Bridge with a small train for the south with NS #1069 on point.

Graytown, Ohio

In the early morning hours of the day, NS #8099 and #1069 lead NS 955 east over the PITL bound for Augusta, GA for the 2024 Masters.

Fall colors were already starting to show in the Southern Tier of New York. NS 1069 leads 22K at the 353 signal on the East side of Dalton, NY on September 13, 2020. Lots of goldenrod out and the tree on the right is changing color. There were a lot of splotches of color along the line between Portagville and Canaseraga. The Virginian heritage unit was the only one I did not have leading a train, so now I have all 20 of them leading. I got it once before as a roster shot parked in Gang Mills Yard.

NS 1069, Virginian, leads NS train 20E east through Vickers Junction in Northwood, OH. Although I had seen 1069 once before, this was the first time it was leading. I have now shot all 20 NS heritage units in the lead.
