Butterfly World. Victoria B.C. It's both hot and humid inside places like this and sometimes hard on cameras and lens that are not weather sealed. It takes about 15 minutes for your lens to clear the fog off before you can begin shooting.
I bought a new Sigma F/2.8 Macro that has an image stable system in it for portable hand held fun. Very nice. You can see the sharp detail if you zoom in on this one.
It was a good buy I think and a lot less than the Canon or Nikon versions without the image stable system and slower F/stop.
The lens is much lighter as well to pack around handheld like I do.
This lens would be good company for those that shoot with smaller canon rebels and the ladies would love this one as a nice upgrade into the macro world. I don't want this to sound like a sales pitch but it is a nice lens to say the least. F/9 and F/11 are the sweet spots with this one.

Zwischendurch mal wieder etwas aktuelleres: Seit einigen Wochen ist bzw. war die Strecke Schliersee-Bayrischzell wegen Bauarbeiten gesperrt. Mit der Eröffnung heute endete der interessante Einsatz der Bauzüge wieder.
Das Schmuckstück schlechthin war die 221 106, welche hier zusammen mit einer RHC 248 einen Schotterzug auf Höhe der Krugalm manövrierte.
Einsätze solcher Lokomotiven auf dieser Strecke dürfte es die letzten Jahre nicht gegeben haben und wohl auch erstmal nicht mehr geben.

Messier 106 (also known as NGC 4258) is an intermediate spiral galaxy in the constellation Canes Venatici. It was discovered by Pierre Méchain in 1781. M106 is at a distance of about 22 to 25 million light-years away from Earth. M106 contains an active nucleus classified as a Type 2 Seyfert, and the presence of a central supermassive black hole has been demonstrated from radio-wavelength observations of the rotation of a disk of molecular gas orbiting within the inner light-year around the black hole.[8] NGC 4217 is a possible companion galaxy of Messier 106.[7](Wikipedia)

I had to stop messing with this one.. It didn't come out the way I wanted but I think it still looks decent :-) I was standing on a bit of a cliff and it was mighty high so I was trying not to fall. I am so afraid of heights so I was impressed by what I accomplished!!!
This is at such a beautiful location that has some of the best views in western MA. There is an old hotel that is no longer in use that normally you can go in or stand on the balcony for the greatest perspective but unfortunately it is under construction and I couldn't get there!!! Oh well.. The was the best I could do with what I had..
This was yesterday's picture and I am sorry I am a bit late but I am on vacation!!
Oh and I got a new dress :-)
