104. That was the temperature when I stepped out of my car at White Sands National Monument at 6:30 pm. The winds were blowing at about 30 mph, so foot prints in the dunes weren’t much of a problem. In fact, my own prints disappeared within minutes of me making them. Surprisingly, there were still plenty of people out running around with their sleds, so I hiked at least a mile west into the dunes. The air here was some of the driest that I have ever experienced. Each time I took a breath, I could feel the moisture getting sucked out of me. After running up and down several dunes in search of a nice crescent shaped one, I settled in on a comp that I liked. I wandered around close by, taking some close-ups, and waited for the sun to get lower. About 15 minutes before sunset, the dune that I picked fell completely into the shadows. In a panic, I grabbed my gear, and scrambled up and down another half dozen dunes to get to a taller one in the distance. Within a minute of setting up at this new location, the sun dipped behind the mountains, but fortunately I was able to fire off a few frames.
I had this image in my mind’s eye after viewing a few amazing sunstar/dunes images here on Flickr. A big thanks goes out to all who provided me with the inspiration.
Arp 104, also known as Keenan's System, is a pair of gravitationally interacting galaxies (NGC 5216 and 5218). It was first noted by William Herschel in 1790. It is located in the constellation Ursa Major at a distance of about 17 million light-years from Earth. The connecting string of gas, dust and stars between the galaxies is about 22,000 light-years long. Also in this field of view is a large collection of other small and medium galaxies.

manual focus at f/1.4 - just fiddling :) It looks like the 'new' Flickr compresses/sharpens photos or something. The original version of this photo looks a lot creamier to me.

13.04.2016 - A friend and I went on a tour last year through our city to find the best custard tart in Lisbon! Yes, we have a sweet-tooth and we make the best out of our time together! And on this day we went on to the second part of the tour! We began on this very old place, but one of the most charming ones and so worth a visit!
Seen lurking in a barn. I think I'm right on the 104 (if so it was the only one I saw during my holiday), but I don't know about the larger car on the left.
The Balmoral Hotel in reverse is caught on the wind screen of this EastCoastbuses SN10 DKJ/20939 BT9L Wright Eclipse Gemini* on the Haddington 104 service, at Princes Street. *So it says on the Interweb. I know nothing about buses!
A Blackpool to Manchester Victoria train formed of two BRCW class 104 three car sets approaches Moses Gate Station on 7/5/1975. And there's a 25 back there in the loop by the signalbox!
The station had recently been improved by the removal of a number of facilities including the shelter over the access ramp and waiting rooms on the platforms. A more convenient bus shelter type waiting facility had been provided instead.
I apologise for the sorry state of my nails - but they were glittery black and I didn't think it was all that suitable for this photo hah.

Just a quick snap of some drinking straws for my 104th day's photo.
Did you know that the modern drinking straw was patented in 1888 by Marvin C. Stone? Well you probably don't even care, but i thought i'd share that fact with you all anyway :)
Please don't add your own photos asking me to look and comment. Thanks.
Explored (briefly), thanks. :)
