It became evident with post processing. It is about where the light hits most. The now, right in front of you.

Loaded stonetrain 732 has just cleared yard limits at Corners in Spencer and notches up out of town with a trio of tigers on Oct. 16, 2022.

The fall colors were absolutely gorgeous at Lykens as W&LE stone train 732 heads east behind a trio of tigers on a picture perfect Sunday morning.

A matched PTC tiger trio on a loaded stonetrain finds some nice fall colors along the Carey Sub just a few miles west of Greenwich, Ohio, on Oct. 16, 2022.

This photo has had one small gasline pole edited out.

Passing some of the beautiful fall colors just outside of town, W&LE train 732 with a trio of tigers heads east into Greenwich, OH where it will get onto CSX tracks for a short run to New London to get back onto home rails.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Anya was the second person we met when we arrived at the AirBnB in Palm Springs. She offered us freshly-made crepes (they were perfect), Canadian bacon (not hot, but still delicious) and, most importantly, mimosas.

When I brought the camera out, I could feel her wanting her picture taken. I been at this a long time, boys and girls, I know the vibes, I'm a Richter Scale of vibes, and I could fucking feel it.

She wasn't all over me or anything tawdry, but she was in my orbit, she wanted her picture taken but did not want to be seen wanting her picture taken.

I left her for almost last...and after she saw it, she immediately wanted another. It was too nice, too happy, she wanted one with attitude, sass.

I saw this develop, wasn't sure, but she was satisfied, and now I see it. This isn't some little gazelle, this here is the lion.

Spent about 24 hours in Palm Springs this weekend, all to visit this lady, who I hadn't seen in...oh, six years?

She was out there for a friend's 40th birthday, and while it's not exactly close, it's not as far as Texas, where I'd normally have to go if we wanted to hang out.

I figured I'd show up, hang out for a few hours, head home...but all the folks there were so welcoming, and there was a pool with a waterfall...and everybody was cool with having their picture taken...and tequila...next thing you know, it's the next day and we're grabbing pumpkin loafs and cold brews to fuel our morning return to LA.

I'll tell ya, too, felt like no time had passed. Like that first time we met, eleven years ago, friends on Flickr, me visiting Houston as part of a cross country trip. Some folks are very easy to be around, warm and inviting at all times. Suppose some friendships are like that, too.

Wasn't until Jeffrey said, "you really enjoy this, don't you?" that I noticed how much fun I was having.

A party where I don't know anybody, perfect desert sunlight, everyone cool with having their picture taken AND the Polaroid film I bought is behaving...couldn't have planned it better if I'd tried.

Took a few shots of Jeffrey before this one came to me, knew before it had ejected from the camera it'd be my favorite shot of the day. Smiles & Sunlight, that's the name of my memoir, right there.

Some very nice fall color surrounds the lowly telephone/power pole situated on 7th Street in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. We marvel at the beauty of the trees in fall, yet most will not give a second or for that matter a first glance at the pole that brings electricity into our homes. It's a lonely, thankless job. It is truly best suited for an inanimate object. 10/16/22. Photo by Dale A. Devene Jr.

Confession: Eons ago, when I first learned English, it was British English - and I've since have had to learn to live with the US spelling of the language. The name of this tool is spelled "vise" in the US, but just for fun I used the spelling I first learned here. ;-)

Hopefully I can the chance to try this shot in the snow, but for now, this will have to do until that happens. Passing over the Sandusky River just east of Tymochtee, Ohio on 10/16/22.

They were almost without salvation, completely undone. I had to compensate some parts with layers of glue. Let's see how long they will last until the next dose of glue ... but they served as inspiration for Next's ballerinas that are all in pieces ... let's see ...
