One of my neighbours has a beautiful Acet tree in their garden and at this time of year the leaves end up in everyone else's gardens. The colours this year have been incredible, I love them.
Finally took my macro lens off for a bit too, used my Lensbaby Velvet for this

I love Hydrangea flowers they are gorgeous all year round.

I was exploring the undergrowth whilst on a particularly sunny walk, when I chanced upon these two handsome frogs playing leapfrog in the grass. I asked if I could play but they told me to hop it.
There is something lovely about moss when you get up close, especially with the tiny raindrops balancing delicately between the stems.
I know there a whole load of science stuff to explain it but surely these raindrops should run down the stems!

Coppers is a good mile walk from my front door and serves as a 'village' store, but also has a deli and sells dozens of different cask and bottled beer. I could live there. HSS!
Taken under my apple tree, the colours in the background are from the fallers which the blackbirds are slowly working their way through.

A rather lovely five-mile walk in the sun offered up a nice iPhone shot of cows doing what cows like to do.

This morning (bright and early) I went out back like I always do- to feed the squirrels - so they leave the bird feeders alone.. *hopefully*. And when I went to set down the handfuls of squirrel mix food on the tree where the squirrels live.. I noticed something shining in the morning sunlight. I realized it was a cicada wing. There were a bunch of little ants all over the area, so my guess is that he must have died & they ate his body.. & left a wing. I thought it was so beautiful (and thankfully undamaged) so I grabbed it with excitement and ran it inside to photograph it. I opened the front door and took some photo graphs using the morning sunlight. I took many BEAUTIFUL photographs that showed all of the different beautiful angles of this wing.. This angle in the light displayed the sunlight on the top edges that almost looked like sparkles! I liked it. I photographed it against my light tan floor so the background was very simple.. and ready for a texture.
So a few days ago I came across a flickr with some BEAUTIFUL TEXTURES available for download and use. I was blown away with the beauty! I had to save them.. just in case I wanted to use them. I i decided that i'd try them out on these cicada wing photos that I had.. and I was so happy with the outcome.
THIS is my favorite one of the bunch.
& I thought everyone should see this & also get a link to these awesome textures that I've come across.. *Find it below*

It's just about outside... For my friends in and around Newcastle, 7.5 million pounds of conservation work has totally transformed the site - well worth a visit.
And my final image in 100 photos (loosely) based on the North of England was captured during a gorgeous winter's walk this morning.
a cold beginning for January, the dove was puffed up to stay warm, this year my 100X project will be black and white shots, so starting it off with a peaceful dove.

The pavements were too treacherous to walk on, so we went off piste to enjoy some crunchy, icy snow and a beautiful, frozen world. I thought I'd take the macro lens for a rare outing concentrate to on the small stuff.

My sunflowers were looking far too happy, so I sucked all the colour out of them - my lips have never been so yellow.
Life leaves its mark but we're no less beautiful for all that.
The final picture for my 100x 2016.
Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to look at/comment on and favourite my pictures, my X was to take pictures that make me happy, if they've done that for you, then that makes me happy too.
There were loads of these tiny Elderberry flowers scattered all through the grasses growing underneath the plant. Natures confetti!

"The scarlet myzomela or scarlet honeyeater (Myzomela sanguinolenta) is a small passerine bird of the honeyeater family Meliphagidae native to Australia. It was described by English ornithologist John Latham in 1801. At 9 to 11 centimetres (3.5 to 4.3 in) long, it is the smallest honeyeater in Australia. It has a short tail and relatively long down-curved bill. It is sexually dimorphic; the male is a striking bright red with black wings, while the female is entirely brown. It is more vocal than most honeyeaters, and a variety of calls have been recorded, including a bell-like tinkling."
