week 1/52 - Paschimothanasana

This is my second time on this project.

Last year was interrupted by something very important to me, my course of Sivananda Yoga.

A year dream finally realized.

It was a good year!

So now, here is my tribute to Yoga which brings me such joy.

And thanks Swami Sivananda

Om Bolo Sat Guru Sivananda Maharaja Ki! Jai!

Paschimothanasana:

Definition: Stretching your spine forward

The Forward Bend looks, and is, simple.

provided you relax into the position, rather than forcing yourself into it.

The pose is one of the most powerful and important Asanas, helping to ease the spinal compression caused by standig upright. Its practice contributes greatly toward keeping your back supple, your joints mobile, your nervous system invigorated, and your internal organs toned.

My 1.4 broke. I got it fixed. :)

Today is the first anniversary of my first upload to Flickr. At first I thought it was all about the picture. The big picture is really the amazing and fun relationships that we've developed together. I really appreciate the ways you've inspired me with your photography, artwork, poetry and personalities. Thank you for being loyal followers!

Also, I've learned a lot from being here. Before Flickr, I had never heard of TTV, HDR or never even knew bokeh was called bokeh. I learned PS and html before the new millenium, but it wasn't until Flickr that I really got to practice. So I'm thankful for that.

One of the first comments on my stream was a group invite. So that inspired me to start the groups Color Escape and DazzlePix Magic for people to enjoy. That is how I've met so many of you and I thank you for that!

I'm so happy for all the nice, fun and meaningful comments over this past year.

Of course I renewed for another year. Cheers! :-)))

Ashton windmill is a Tower mill in Chapel Allerton, Somerset, England.

The first mill on the site was medieval, but the present structure probably dates from the 18th century. It was modernised in 1900 with machinery brought from the demolished Moorlinch mill, and iron hoops around the building being added. It was restored in 1967. The mill has been designated by English Heritage as a grade II listed building.

Cheffins vintage and classic auction, Sutton -

"Serial No. 116700054. Launched at the Amsterdam Motor Show on the 30th of April 1948 the Land Rover was inspired by the US Army's wartime Jeep. Rover bosses the Wilks Bros saw a need for a rugged multi-use machine that would serve the UKs agricultural industry post Second World War. SEW 747 is an 88"" wheelbase unit fitted with the 2052cc diesel engine producing a heady 52bhp. Purchased new in July 1957 by a farming company near Alconbury, Huntingdonshire, this one owner Series 1 is consigned straight from its original farm home. Initially it was used for general farming duties and, at some point in the 1970s, the vehicle was converted from its pick up guise to tractor use. The owner decided that in order to conform to a legislation change regarding carrying rear passengers in that period, the buck should be cut through and the available seating area removed. This allowed the Land Rover to be used solely for drawbar work on the farm. The exhaust manifold was also altered to allow the exhaust to exit through the nearside wing snorkel style. The original buck has been re-attached in years gone by via a farm engineered strut and brace system providing suitable rigidity. Although SEW 747 has received some alterations during its long life, they only add to its charm and history as a practical multi-use agricultural vehicle. This 'one farm from new' Series 1 was laid up around 30 years ago in a dry barn and was only recently freed for photography. It retains a lot of the original paint and the interior appears largely complete with only 56,758 miles recorded. Although it has not been running for some years this is a very rare opportunity to acquire a genuine one owner Land Rover Series 1 requiring restoration. SEW 747 is offered for sale complete with its buff RF60 logbook and V5 registration document. Estimate: £10,000-£12,000."

Sold for £15,500.

Batman and Robin run through the meat packaging plant on a lead to the joker. When batman finally catches up, he has a gun to the young girl's head. Without hesitation, the clown shoots Robin. The batman gets up, slowly walks over to the joker, and snaps the laughing man's neck, instantly killing him.

“HELENA!!!! “ Bruce Wayne wakes up in a cold sweat. He gets up and buttons his shirt, getting ready for a press conference. “Gotham. This city is broken. There are murderers on the streets, anarchists rioting all over. We need hope. We need the police to step up their game and stop this. “ Mr.Wayne, what about the batman? “

“He's the police's responsibility.”

“What about Superman? “

“Let's not get into that tonight.”

LATER THAT NIGHT (Bruce's perspective)

This, this cesspool of a city. I wish things were like they used to be, when there weren't costumed killers out there. When the police gave a damn. But with Jim in this coma, the city has gone to absolute shit. I put on my mask and climb into the car. As I rev the engine, I start to think about how things would have gone if I didn't end the Joker. Would they be better? Or would this city be facing a bigger threat? I don't think anyone knows. But I do know One thing, I love Gotham, and I'm going to save it at any cost…

Only noticed that it was, appropriately a 1 for the 1st of Jan when I'd uploaded.

Seems appropriate too as I'm taking a chance that this year can only be better than the last bit of 2010 has been. Here's to 2011.

Inkwell's Luminous aka Lux is a 1.5 year old Australian Shepherd. I wanted his first photo for this project to show off his cute smile- it's difficult to capture, he is the silliest ham, always giving me goofy expressions (his lip being stuck on his teeth being the most common result).

Mais de 1.000 visualizações em menos de 2 meses de flickr. Obrigada por todos que visitam minha página diariamente e apreciam minhas fotografias! [:

Recently I went down to the New Brighton Pier (Christchurch, NZ) for a looksie. It has become quite the spectacle since the addition of colour lights about 1 month ago. The lights are on some sort of cycle which I didn't figure out on the night, but it was quite varied and always interesting. Definitely worth a look for the locals.

This is the first of a selection of ten photos from the night shoot. I plan to post them over the next few days and then be done with the pier, for quite a while I hope. Maybe. ;-)

This exposure is 6 seconds. The longer exposures presented some challenges, mainly because the lights, although fading from colour to colour quite slowly, did change over the course of the exposure. In these situations I suppose only the dominant colours remain in the image. Also had some issues with very light drizzle at times, but nothing too bad.

I've been keeping up with Civil War II since the day it's released, and despite what the reviews are, I love it! I think it's been kinda slow to get started, and I wish it would go many issues beyond its scheduled 8. But the plot and dialogue is great, and character development is amazing. And I decided to make the side I'm currently on, IRON MAN. Its basically confirmed what happens in the aftermath of CW2, since the series is running behind and they went ahead and published other series. And I plan on creating many more figbarfs on it in the future!

Also, I may have lied about the Vortex issues. I made 1, but it felt rushed and I wasnt pleased with it. So I'm not sure if I'll get #14 out soon, but it's in the works. So, please comment if you favorite, and I'll see you guys later!
