As much as I adore the liquid element, I reside at a place where it is is considered a rather scarce commodity and can hardly be located ... Thank God, at a distance of half an hour drive there lies the beautiful river of Nestos, whose flow is surrounded by amazing Green Nature and bridges, lots of bridges !!!
I love using my tripod and my ND (Neutral Density) filters over my lenses ... Their combined use enhances considerably the appropriate shutter speed for a balanced exposure, thus blurring water's flow and creating beautiful sharp images .... Environmental colors remain unaltered ...
I definitely suggest them for extensive use over around blue hours landscape photography ...

Zoals bij de vorige foto al werd beschreven was de mist de reden om het zuidelijk van Würzburg te proberen.
Spelbreker in dit verhaal was de Main, die met een relatief warme temperatuur in vergelijking met de buitenlucht (-1) 's nachts voor een dikke laag mist in het dal zorgt.
Uiteindelijk moest er een keuze gemaakt worden tussen de lijn Würzburg - Ansbach of Würzburg - Neustadt a/d Aisch. Een tweetal meldingen op Whatsapp in alle vroegte deden ons besluiten naar de lijn richting Neustadt a/d Aisch te rijden.
Zo kon een uur na RTB Cargo de eerste van de 2 gemelde treinen vastgelegd worden, die overigens beide sowieso te vroeg in het Maintal hadden gereden.
De 193 736 "Marco Polo" van SETG was onderweg met de vertraagde boomstammentrein 44885 (Wabern - Salzburg Liefering) en werd bij Altmannshausen opgewacht.

After the extra CP G13 passed overhead as seen here: flic.kr/p/2nnyzJq the sun came out as the 9 AM Waterville Relief crew on PAR train NMWA-13 was wrapping up the air test and getting ready to start west with their 4261 ft long train of 59 loads and 4 empties behind a GP40-2LW, GP40, C40-8 combo. They are on the west end of Track 4 here at MP 64 on the Freight Main while at right on track w/e 3 is OT-1's GP40-2LW/GP40 power tied for the weekend.

Along Seton Lake, Looks like everyone is excited to see something other than the scenery with the gawkers and wavers.
Digging into the collection and what I have from Hawk Mountain NRHS, how about another freight with PA power on it? Okay, so not by themselves but with some helpers along. Here we see a westbound freight crossing the Delaware River behind a crazy mixed bag of power. An RS-3 and an RS-2, plus a pair of PA-1's, team up with an F-7B to move the tonnage west. Again, back in the train are some of those cool B&O hopper cars, which seem to have been rather prevalent on the LV.
It's interesting as perhaps the LV did a better job of keeping like units as solid sets than other roads I've seen, yet at times they could still run crazy setups like this one crossing the river. This bridge was the LV mainline, to the left of this bridge was the CNJ's mainline bridge, with the L&HR's bridge a bit further to the left. This bridge is abandoned as under Conrail consolidations, trains switched between LV and CNJ mains just behind where the unknown photographer took this from. The L&HR's bridge remains somewhat used as a secondary line but there are no rails left today on this still standing structure.

impossible to visit St Monans without taking a picture of the breakwater.....a composite of two frames, one exposed for sky, one for the sea, both shot using the EM-1's "live bulb" feature
With the first two "Blue Barns" to be released from the Derby paint shop leading, CMQ Job 1's coasts downgrade over the trestle at Onawa. Unfortunately, morning sun isn't very beneficial here, but at least it's late enough in the year that the sun comes up quite a bit further south than it would in the summer. On this day, the pair of SD40-2Fs and single SD40T-2 are more than enough power to keep this train moving right along, and they will end up in Jackman around 11:00.

Away from the parades of GEVO's on the Class 1's in the St Louis area are some interesting shortlines. The Prairie Line has numerous switching contracts on both sides of the Mississippi River. One of the larger operations is around Arsenal Street utilizing the remaining active trackage from the Manufacturer's Railway. The InBev brewery provides a couple of different switching opportunities along with active car storage.
On this day in May 2024, multiple TPLX crews use the old Manny high line to bring cars to the River Yard after a derailment at Arsenal St blocked the normal switching lead. From here, cars would be sorted to interchange to the TRRA at Miller Yard - a short distance to the north.

A time to wind down and relax, no garish neon signs and away from all hustle and bustle. Just gentle sounds of whispers and footsteps instead of loud talking, engine hum and road noise.
A little alley in a most historical section of an ancient city but unlike some ancient cities I’ve been to in the old world, there is little sign of squalor or decay.
Meanwhile, the independent OM-1 sensor test data is finally out, as expected it is no better than the E-M1 Mkii and later cameras; www.flickr.com/photos/86145600@N07/51875512730/in/datepos...
Taken in the right context however, the 24mp Sony A9/A9ii and 45mp Nikon Z9 stacked sensor cameras all exhibited lower Dynamic Range (DR) than their corresponding 24mp (A7III) and 45mp (Z7/Z7ii) non-stacked sensor bodies. The fact that the stacked sensor 20mp OM-1 has similar but not lower DR than its non stacked 20mp brethrens is an achievement although this probably has something to do with the OM-1 sensor being BSI while the E-M1 MKii/iii and E-M1X are all non-BSI.
The OM-1’s stacked sensor should finally bring meaningful upgrade to m43 AF subject tracking (C-AF) which was never as great as the manufacturer and shills claimed and it has fallen much behind competitors with stacked sensors.
Personally, the OM-1 has not made much further inroads on computational photography which is unfortunate given its speedier pipeline and slightly improved stabilization even though Hand-Held High Resolution (HHHR) results do look better and processing time halved.
For those of us using m43 for slower paced subjects, the E-M1 Mkii would suffice and good condition lightly used units can be found for ⅓ the OM-1’s current retail price.
For non-sports m43 shooters and given that sensor tech has stalled, the only meaningful future upgrade will be when m43 moves to 14bit color depth. Those who like to claim that there’s no difference between 12bit vs 14bit don’t really know what they are talking about.
Extrapolating a little, the upcoming A7RV would do nicely with a FF sized OM-1 stacked sensor (effectively 20.4mp; total mp=22.9) at around 87mp, provided Sony stays away from the annoying fully articulated swivel screen for their R series!
Five weeks after the previous WMR Turbostar went for a repaint into EMR colours with WMR branding, 170501 heads off north for the treatment with 5N42 Tyseley LMD to Crewe Carriage Sidings, the penultimate one with 170505 heading off two weeks after.

If you're in Jackson Hole, WY (USA) anywhere between May and early August and you don't shoot the Milky Way over one of the Moulton Barns then you are certainly missing out. Go for it. Get out there and expand your photography knowledge, skills and the depth of your photography content. Don't be afraid of the dark ... take a couple of friends and have a great time with night photography and don't forget to light paint a few other objects throughout Jackson Hole.
The light in the clouds is from the town of Jackson which is about 15 minutes south of this barn.
As time goes on, I will upload other night sky / Milky Way shots I've taken ... I just don't want to upload one after another and bore people to death.

Nightsky / Milky Way photography in Jackson Hole, WY
