1954 Porsche 550 Spyder
This is a very special car we never expected to see at a Colorado PCA social. The car had completed a recent restoration at Vintage Car Works in Centennial, CO. We talked to the restorer and shop owner, Dave DiMaria. He is extremely knowledgeable.
This the first Wendler-built car on a Wendler-built frame. Interesting history here.
In 1955, Porsche race-car driver Annie Bousquet broke the women's speed record in Montlhéry France piloting this 550 Spyder with a lap record of 143 MPH. More interesting history about that here.
What a treat to see this beautiful and storied car!
Fred invited me to a PCA membership social at Blue Chip Services in Englewood. They had a wonderful clutch of cars to peruse at their shop.
The chassis is looking a little better with some additional bracing welded in and new front radius rods.

These are some really awesome pics, as I continue to hone my photography skills. Time for new lens' ya?
