February 3, 2010--This is Franklin, another of my Betta fish. He's hanging out in a cup because today was tank cleaning day. He's not a big fan of the cup or the water change process (most of my fish aren't, though some are better sports than others), but he sure does appreciate the clean house afterward.
Franklin looks nothing like he did when I got him. He was so pitiful-looking in the store, that my boyfriend said to me, "He's ugly, why do you want to get him?" But he just gave me "the eyes," and I couldn't leave him there. Franklin came home at the same time as Corona, an orange and purple male who was living in a bowl of bamboo at the time.
Personality-wise, Franklin can be kind of a bully. He stresses out most of my other males if I put his tank next to any of them, so I usually keep him surrounded by females because he won't bully them. Actually, he seems particularly fond of my blue crowntail female, Jadzia and flirts with her through the glass.
