(034/365) In my review of January, I commented on how things never really go as plan for the good of photography. I wanted to finish some more work on my assignment for class, but it started to turn out to be a bad idea. I actually had most of the photos I needed in my hard drive already. Just to be safe, I changed my target location from the Golden Gate Bridge to Carquinez. Something clicked in me to finally go and check out that interesting dive bar I saw on Lifeblasters that was tucked away in Port Costa, it was on the way to the bridge anyway. I took my friend with me who was tagging a long to freeze with me during long exposures.
The place was awesome, they even had a parking lot that seemed like a replica of the moon's surface! The bartender was extremely nice and after reviewing the extensive beer list, we got to tour their large cooler filled with a variety of drinks that were arranged by region. As soon as the door opened my eyes locked on to the Banana Bread Beer; I love Banana Bread. My friend went with the one with misspelling of Pirate or something. The served the beer with mason jars which was different and actually kind of cool. Some may call it hipster.
After all that we were surprised to find out it was potluck night. So we got a ton of free food from who knows where that was rather delicious. To add on top of that, there was a giant polar bear and a game of pool was only a dollar via a coin-op device in the table.
Time well spent, will be back for sure.
