This might look like a piece of art, but it isn't. In fact it is the pier for the ferry from Vlieland to Texel, both Waddenislands.

The small ferry only runs from the end of april till the end of september.

In the wintertime the pier is apparently partly dismantled.

To be honest, I don't know if the tide is extra low now, but the pier looks like it stands in the middle of the sand plain !

Probably made from driftwood.

Met enige vertraging is de loc onderweg met gereviseerde NSR locs 186 116 en 186 220 naar Bad Bentheim bij het uitrijden van Salzbergen.
