Very early in the ninety-nineties, shortly after the collapse of the USSR, I was twice part of an international aid team that was assessing the need for medical material in western Ukraine. We visited hospitals, care homes, and orphanages in Lviv and the surrounding countryside. I still have vivid memories of the friendly and open people and how they enjoyed the new freedom, but also the poverty in the middle of Europe. The goodbye appeared sadder and more thoughtful than the welcome. What are these kids doing today?
I was able to take a few images, some of which I recently found and scanned.

Das Tanklager wird neben SBB Cargo auch von der BLS, sowie WRS bedient. Mit einem Kesselwagenleerzug war die BLS 465 009 hier in der Sarganser Schleife auf dem Weg nach Basel zu sehen.

Im Block vor der 2043 rollte 383 009 mit Getreidezug aus Straubing Richtung Wels und konnte bei Haiding erwartet werden.

Sous une lumière du soir, la 162.009 de l'opérateur HECTORRAIL approche de Kenzingen avec sa rame de citernes. Il s'agit en fait de l'ancienne 151 128 de la DB, retirée du service fin 2013, avant d'être rachetée et réactivée par l'opérateur Suédois HECTOR.
Mit ihrem KLV Zug aus Verona war die TXL 192 009 im Altmühltal bei Dollnstein auf dem Weg gen Norden zu sehen.
Day 9 and although I could take a lot more pictures here on this beach, I must go ahead with the initial plan and continue the random exploration. I will post an extra later today, before moving on
Seit September nehmen einige BLG-Autozüge von und nach Falkenberg den Weg über Passau und Österreich. Nachdem 383 009 am Vortag mit einigen Neuwagen aus dem Hause VW nach Falkenberg brachte, konnte die Werbelok am 5.9. mit dem Leerzug kurz vor Passau abgelichtet werden.
Am Morgen war 192 009 mit dem sehr gut ausgelasteten DGS 43165 nach Wolfurt bis Kufstein unterwegs und konnte bei Vogl abgelichtet werden.
Railtraxx 266 009-0 heeft met trein 44972 van Linz naar Antwerpen Noord bijna de grens bij Essen bereikt. Nispen, 19 maart 2023
