or.......Replacement 2
I saw the tutorial for this image here photoshoptutorials.ws/photoshop-tutorials/photo-manipulat... and knew I had to do another version of my image "Replacement".
I didn't actually follow the tutorial, just looked at the image and did my own thing, but I did use some of their resources. If you'd like to create something like this yourself, check out the tutorial. It is seven pages long, but goes into detail about each step, so looks like it should be easy enough to follow if you have a little Photoshop experience.

153/365 Photo Manipulations Project
Constructive criticism most gratefully received.
AN early manipulated Polaroid pic, dated 1989. Always looked Tim Burton-esk with the spikey trees and monotones. I don't remember where this house was located but sure it was either rural Hancock or Hardin County Ohio.
We belong to a very fun and friendly Flickr group called Down Under Challenge. If you are interested in photo manipulation you might like to join us. A new challenge photo is posted every Friday (Thurs in the USA) for everyone to work with. Details and group rules can be found on the group's home page. Please note, only challenge photos may be posted to the pool.

I made this chart a few years ago, to try to explain to our Grandchildren about the Equinox and the change of seasons.
The Earth is always leaning in the same direction 23.5 Degrees as it goes around the Sun in one year. September 22nd and March 20th are the Equinox because as the earth rotates each part receives an equal amount of light and darkness. Equinox is a Latin word that means , "Equal night". The Autumnal Equinox on September 22th is the first day of six months of Darkness at the North Pole, conversely the South Pole is going into 6 months of daylight The Solstices occur when the Sun is at the maximum height as seen from the North and the South Pole..... also it occurs on the longest and shortest days of the year.
The tilt has our northern hemisphere closer to the Sun in June, so we enjoy Summer.....whereas in December the nice folks in Australia can go swimming while we have to shovel snow.
The kids, and a few adults I think, have a hard time trying to understand this simple principle. LOL..I got a few "OK..Now I get it"........from the Grannykids.
The date and time of the Autumn Equinox this year will be at 9:03 PM on Thursday September 22.
Leap year plays a part with these dates but these dates are always close to the mark.
Day 306
OY! Just taking this picture took me a couple of hours. Editing only took me about 40 minutes. I know I am going to be sore tomorrow but it was SO worth it!

Making those 3D design things by hand is for the birds.
Fotolia was having a pretty cool campaign during the year featuring all these designers and you could download their PSD for free. Didn't help ,much as I couldn't tell what they were doing really and I lack artistic and design talent but was cool seeing all the ideas. I dug Pulssarts design and said that concept would be perfect to finish my Modernistic inspired work which was really based a tutorial.

Final project for my Design Essentials program at Emily Carr University of Art & Design / BCIT in Vancouver BC.
170 images, each individually manipulated in photoshop. The final piece will take the form of a printed flip book and distributed to local design studios.
Still working on the cover page and copy, I will upload video of the flip book once printing is finished.

I've wanted to do more post production work and this composite I've had in mind for a while, shooting the base image many months ago,
Strobist:
Puppeteer (me): 4 light setup. Key is an X1600 in a 10º grid, camera right, f/11. B800 in a 20º grid on the background. B800 in a gridded stripbox (no diffusion) for rim opposite key on camera left. Elinchrom Quadra with diffuser/cover (flagged to keep spill off subject) camera left to highlight the controls. I didn't record exposure but it was on 2.5 on the B port, so just a wink of light.
Marionette (Ksaundra B): basically glamor lighting. Key is an Elinchrom Quadra in a deep octa, boomed over camera, f/11. Rim lighting is provided by 2 B1600s in gridded strip boxes, right and left rear, approximately f/8.
