After I woke up from a long and needed sleep, I woke up this morning proud of myself that I had managed to protect my mommies prized ferrero rocher collection from harm.
But oh shock, what did I find when I went to check the tressure chamber?
One of the golden orbs had vanished!
After making sure my Uncle wasn’t responsible, by checking if he had some chocolate smeared around his snout, I kept investigating.
It didn’t take me long to find the culprit. Little Pip was happily snoring next to the window, the evidence in form of a golden wrapper still on his nose.
I didn’t have the heart to turn him in and I thought maybe my mommie wouldn’t miss this one, to make sure that the treasure still looked symmetrical (since they are lined up in pairs) I decided to eat another one... only to protect Pip of course ;-)
I can't believe I'm having to tell this story but I have lost my D300 and 18-20mm vr lens! That's right, this is not a typo or some sick joke.
When we arrived at our gliding club on Friday evening it was pretty late. As I got out of the passenger side of the aircraft I picked up my camera as I normally would. The baggage compartment is on the other side of the aircraft and Paul unloaded our baggage onto the ground there. This is where I would normally have put my camera down but Brac decided to get out my side which is unusual as he normally always gets out on the other side of the aircraft so I had to put the camera down on the ground to help lift him out. I knew as I put it down that I would forget it if I didn't pick it up again straight away but I got sidetracked by a friend who came to meet us. He offered to help put the cover on the aircraft so I got involved with that first. I then helped Paul carry the baggage to the caravan.
Next morning I realised I did not have my camera. I went over to the aircraft but the camera was not there. I searched it inside and out. I enquired in the office and the club house but no joy. I asked all around the site but still nothing. Reluctantly I reported it to the police as lost.
There were two compact flash cards in the bag both of which have my name and phone number written on them but no calls have come through.
I made one last call to the police again today in case it had been handed in but no joy.
That the camera was on the grass in it's bag on Friday evening is definite. that it is not there now nor was on Saturday is also definite. What happened in between is speculation but it was too heavy to be carried off by a fox.
I have since reported it to my insurance company but the out of hours call centre could not say if it would be covered and by what degree so I will have to wait until the claims adjuster contacts me tomorrow.
I can't tell you just how gutted and stupid I feel.
I only wish there was some way of tracing it through it's serial number should it ever be sold on or taken in for repair as I feel sure it must be in someone's possession.
Amazing expression shown by this lovely creature. As if longing to meet someone faraway. Found her as I took a stroll at Teluk Cempedak Beach in Pahang, Malaysia today when I met this amazing creature. Wild yet so welcoming to people. Sharp, piercing gaze and filled with indescribable emotions.

2 are done with a joint effort between me and Anthony (Havok76). Anthony chimed in what he could of the second floor and I did all the rest. Not to mention he also was in charge of 4642 and 4 hero factories, and the Glasses model. All of this for the Sunrise store.
Now will you guys guess what's the missing space and who it will be occupied with tomorrow night? Should be really easy.

This thing has 3 registers, all of different widths, and a very limited ALU. It is clocked manually (using the crank) and only has 2 data processing instructions (+/-). All the control signals are manual too.
I have a ram's skull on my bookcase (TMI? Shaddup... it was a gift about 18 years ago), and never really noticed it's missing tooth. Struck me as interesting last night.

"Missing Link" Cigar Box - Inner Label
This old cigar box inner label has a mica mirror in the center. When the box is opened, you see your own reflection in the mirror.
I looked for any information that might be available on this brand of cigar and it's box, but was unable to find anything but a picture and the fact that it was made around 1880.
To bad we couldn't buy them today and send them by the truckload to Washington D.C.!

This is a replacement marker called "Reiter" ("rider" or "tab") in German indicating a missing book in the vaults of the Frankfurt am Main archive of the German National Library. It concerns registered book no. 239 of the year 1947. I think that the upper note indicates that this was recorded as the 8th discovered absence in the year 2007, or maybe the 7th discovered absence in the year 2008.

I am already missing the lovely colors of Fall. This was taken the same day of the "50 mm" challenge that I mentioned a few days ago.

Our special boy is missing. GT does go outside but generally he sticks pretty close to home. He has not been see since Friday morning. He was wearing a (breakaway) collar with a tag and he is microchipped. We have put ads online, posted flyers and have checked our local pound, but so far nothing.
The other troublesome thing is that our neighbor's cat Scratch has been missing since Thursday.
I can't even begin to express how heartbroken we are. :-(
