St Anne's Park is a very large public park shared between Raheny and Clontarf, both suburbs on the northside of Dublin.
The park, the second largest municipal park in Dublin, is part of a former 202 hectares (500 acres) estate assembled by members of the Guinness family, beginning with Benjamin Lee Guinness in 1835 (the largest municipal park is nearby (North) Bull Island, also shared between Clontarf and Raheny).
Features include an artificial pond and a number of follies.
The follies include a Herculanean Temple on the banks of the Duck Pond and a viewing tower (once part of the estate's mansion house) and three fortifications. An ornamental bridge high over the Naniken River had its central portion removed in the 1980s, though the Roman-style building at the mansion-side landing point remains, while a "Druidic Circle" of Giant's Causeway basalt was lost at an earlier stage. The viewing tower has been closed for many years.
The walled garden, including a fruit garden added to the estate by Bishop Plunkett, is now chiefly a 12 acre (49,000 m²) plant nursery for the Parks Department. Thousands of bedding plants, shrubs, trees, and floral tubs are produced annually in the nursery. There is a herbaceous garden area open during limited hours, and a fine clock tower, restored to working order in 2007.
In 1975, St Anne's Rose Garden was opened to the public. In 1980 it was given a Civic Award by Bord Failte and the Irish Town Planning Institute, and since 1981 it has been a centre for International Rose Trials.
As part of the first week of the AISTS Master of Sports Administration programme, the 41 aspiring sports leaders "break the ice" with an introduction to the sport of curling.

Second weekend in a row in Sedona mountain biking. Stuck to the north side of Sedona this round. Biked around 3 hours or so, and 15 miles of trails. Once again, very beautiful.

SAFARI 2000 – Pietersberg, 2000
The Southern African Regional Science Initiative (SAFARI 2000) project was an international science initiative to study the linkages between land and atmosphere processes conducted from 1999-2001 in the southern African region. In addition, SAFARI 2000 examined the relationship of biogenic, pyrogenic, and anthropogenic emissions and the consequences of their deposition to the functioning of the biogeophysical and biogeochemical systems of southern Africa.
During September 2000 NASA flew an ER-2 out of Polokwane, also known as Pietersburg. The ER2 carried a number of imaging instruments and was accompanied by low level in situ measurements conducted from a University of Washington C-580. Flying took place over South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique and Zambia. The project was supported and supplied by a USAF C-141 and K -135 from March AFB. The single seater ER-2 flew across the Atlantic from Recife Brazil.

La fecha esperada por muchos, por fin llegó.
Toda vez que este sábado, en punto de las 12 del mediodía, bajo un intenso sol que era testigo fiel de la nostalgia, los recuerdos y las memorables épocas del fútbol, los Veteranos del Puebla FC, ídolos de multitudes, de grandes y de los chicos que han crecido con las historias que sus padres o abuelos les contaban sobre aquellos héroes que defendían con garra, corazón y orgullo los colores blanco y azul, enmarcados con una franja que atraviesa el pecho y que en sus dorsales anunciaban con letras de oro, sus apellidos o motes, aquellos que quedarían para la inmortalidad: Larios, “Búfalo” Poblete, Ruiz Esparza, “Coreano” Rivera, Bartolotta, Chávez Carretero, Valencia, “Mango” Orozco, Marcelino Bernal, entre otros; se enfrentaron en un partido del recuerdo a los Veteranos del América, comandados por el gran Eduardo Bacas, acompañado de un “filoso” Efraín “Cuchillo” Herrera o de un “Gallo” muy gallo en la portería, Alejandro García, entre otras figuras americanistas.
Si bien, el encuentro más que profesional era del recuerdo, se jugó como un partido normal, con dos tiempos, en los cuales las figuras de ambas oncenas vieron actividad alternándose en cada una de las partes.
Pero, a pesar de los años, del paso del tiempo y aunque muchos de ellos se mantienen alejados del deporte, un ingrediente reinó y fue el común denominador en estos grandes ídolos: el corazón, la garra, la lucha, la entrega y la pasión no solo por volver a jugar, sino para demostrar que, a pesar del retiro y del olvido por parte de las directivas de sus ex - equipos, ellos siguen con los colores del equipo de sus amores, tatuados en el pecho y en el corazón.
Hecho que fue bien correspondido por parte de la afición de ambos equipos, que no dejaron de aplaudir a sus ídolos, de vitorear sus nombres y de cantar los goles con mucha pasión.
Enmarcando este cariño arremolinándose para tomarse una foto o tener un autógrafo de sus ídolos, un tesoro para todos ellos.
Al final, el resultado de 3 goles a 2 favor del América fue lo de menos, lo verdaderamente importante fue la convivencia dentro de la cancha de estos íconos para revivir grandes épocas y volver a verse después de un tiempo.
Las anotaciones del conjunto emplumado fueron obra de Jorge Toledano y Manuel Ríos (doblete). Por parte de los camoteros, Daniel Bartolotta y Adrián Sánchez marcaron los goles.
Al final del partido amistoso, el ahora comentarista Eduardo Bacas comentó que "estoy muy contento, es una gran afición. Me da gusto que la afición se reúna para ver el espectáculo deportivo... Contento de que esta gente joven, esta sangre joven del americanismo esté presente con nosotros, el resultado es lo de menos, lo importante es que la gente se acerque, la gente nos conozca y la gente nos apoye".
Por su parte, el ex-guardameta enfranjado Pablo Larios indicó que "el gusto de haber estado aquí es para mí, volver a encontrar a compañeros con los que fuimos campeones y disfrutar el juego. Siempre es importante volverse a reunir y disfrutar de lo que nosotros hicimos y se hizo bien".
