As part of a partnership with the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa/Western Illinois, "The Doctor Is In" was held on Wednesday, November 2nd. More than 90 girls and parents in grades 2nd-5th grade attended the night, which included 12 interactive stations led by current UI Carver College of Medicine students and graduate students. University of Iowa Health Care is committed partners with formal and informal educators and community organizations across the state to advance STEM literacy to inspire the next generation of health care professionals and build a foundation for children to understanding their own health. In FY2015, more than 16,000 school age children were engaged in hands on learning provided by 260 faculty, staff and students.
