Ayer estuve jugando con unos amigos en una bonita cabaña pasiega (gracias Gema por tu hospitalidad) y tuve la oportunidad de compartir mis conocimientos de las técnicas de captura y tratamiento de escenas con un alto rango dinámico. En este bonito rincón pudimos practicar una situación con un enorme contraste de luces y sombras, intentando capturar con detalle toda la información posible en el interior y en el exterior de la ventana.
A pesar de que últimamente mi gusto tiende a un aspecto lo más natural posible, en ocasiones como ésta deseaba una imagen rústica, oscura pero con notables matices de luces, y un largo procesado, por otro lado muy instructivo, me ha llevado hasta aquí. Está claro que no puedo vivir sin estridencias, jaja

The song is from the British comedy ‘Benny Hill’, I thought the happy tune went nicely with the scene!

Back from my snowboarding trip, so I thought it was time for a new photo and video session of me doing my usual thing.. getting myself in a cute dress and sexy high heels.. slapping on some make-up and transform myself into a girl! :P
I know some of you don't mind all this indoor business... but me personally, I'm getting rather bored with it as it is sooo limiting!
So, I'm hoping for nice warm sunny weather in the Netherlands at the end of March or in April. And if it doesn't happen, then I'm just gonna pack my suitcase and travel to a tropical sunny island! :P

I will readily and unashamedly admit it... I love short dresses! Perhaps it's because I never got the chance when I was young or perhaps it's just the feeling of freedom compared to jeans/pants.
( btw, did you read about that woman who couldn't walk after having squatted for hours in skinny jeans? )
It might also be because I feel my legs are still presentable while I'm pushing 40. I don't know.. do you think there is an age after which one should stop wearing dresses like these?

Met up with Antony Spencer , Bristol bound (Gary ) Mike DT6 (Mike) abd bumped into Green Bunion for the first time ever :-) Antony promised good weather till 9,00am so for me it was an early start 2.40am to drive 250 mile round trip stopping off @ Portland for a look .

Nothing like a couple of days of rain in the Netherlands to make me think back to my sunny holiday. I'm soooo wishing I was back in France sipping on some rosé!
Did I say I like sun? Lots of sun! The sunshine really invites to wearing short dress, skirts, shorts and swimsuits, but sometimes, it so nice to wear a long flowy maxi dress. And I love the movements of the dress as the warm wind blows against it. :)
I'm usually a fan of super figure-hugging clothes ( while I still have the body for it :-P ), but with a maxi dress.. I just love how it's very loose-fitting and roomy. And another advantage.. I didn't need to rub my legs with sunscreen that day.. so yay for being lazy! :-P

The biggest full moon of 2009 could be seen on the 10th of January. Above photo was captured on 10 January around sunset. The giant moon was rising in the east. It was the biggest and brightest one of 2009, sure to wow even seasoned observers.
Earth, the moon and the sun are all bound together by gravity, which keeps us going around the sun and keeps the moon going around us as it goes through phases. The moon makes a trip around Earth every 29.5 days. But the orbit is not a perfect circle. One portion is about 50,000 km closer to our planet than the farthest part, so the moon's apparent size in the sky changes. Saturday night the moon will be at perigee, the closest point to us on this orbit. The biggest Full Moon of 2009 and it will appear about 14 percent bigger in our sky and 30 percent brighter than some other full moons during 2009, according to NASA. A similar setup occurred last December. This month's full moon is known as the Wolf Moon from Native American folklore. The full moon's of each month are named. January's is also known as the Snow Moon. At moon rise, the moon will appear even larger than it will later in the night when it's higher in the sky. This is an illusion that scientists can't fully explain. Some think it has to do with our perception of things on the horizon vs. stuff overhead.
Photo of the lighthouse taken at Marken island. Ice fishers walking on the ice-fields of the Gouwsea. Looking out over the infinite sea and it seems they stopped to watch the biggest and brightest moon of 2009. I took this photo from the southern dike. Besides this amazing moon rising there was also a beautiful sunset on the opposite site.
The lighthouse 'Horse of Marken' stands on its own tiny island at the end of a narrow causeway and is almost completely surrounded by water, which makes its location so photogenic. Particularly in winter, when after a long period of frost during which the IJsselmeer was largely frozen over the thaw set in and the ice was starting to drift you could shoot spectacular pictures here. These two fishermen went with a sliding carriage, fishing net and an axe for ice fishing like their ancestors in Marken. Finally after 12 years without ice they could go ice fishing again. Fishing for sparkling and flounder was a nice additional income in those days. It looks like fun but not without risk. In the old days fishermen felt with regularity in a ice-field hole and became super cooled or even drowned.
