¿Cómo es trabajar en casa con gatos? Si tienes la oportunidad de llevar o de tener tener tu trabajo en el hogar tus peludos van a poder pasar mucho más tiempo contigo, algo que os vendrá bien a ambos. Pero… no todo es de color de rosa. Hablo desde la experiencia.
Es genial tener la compañía de tu amigo, pero cuando tienes mucho que hacer… es una distracción, encantadora, pero distracción al fin y al cabo. Así que si quieres saber cómo ser más productivo en casa, te recomiendo leer este artículo. 😉
¿Cómo es trabajar en casa con felinos?
Bueno, dependerá del número de gatos y del trabajo que tengas. Te hablaré desde mi experiencia. Trabajo como redactora web, las mañanas y alguna que otra tarde de lunes a viernes, y comparto mi vida con cinco gatos: Susty, Keisha, Benji, Sasha y Bicho a los cuales adoro. Pero no te voy a engañar: cuando se suben al escritorio no puedo evitar acariciarlos, o darles besitos, o cogerlos en brazos y achucharlos… ¡Es muy difícil resistirse!
La cosa sin embargo se pone ”menos bonita” cuando les da por subirse al teclado, jugar con los cables o sentarse delante del monitor. Ahí es cuando tengo que actuar de otra forma: cogiéndolos y bajarlos de la mesa, a la cual por cierto volverán a subir en cuanto pasen unos segundos. ¿Por qué? Porque son gatos y hacen lo que quieren .
Como decía al principio, los gatos son una distracción muy tierna y maravillosa, pero te tienes que mentalizar que cuando estás trabajando, estás trabajando. Por supuesto, puedes acariciarles y hacerles un poco de caso, pero no demasiado.
¿Qué hacer para mejorar el rendimiento?
Cuando se convive con gatos y se tiene el trabajo en casa, lo ideal sería irse a una habitación en la que los animales no pudieran entrar. Ahora bien, si lo que nos interesa es hacerles un poco de compañía, tenemos que saber que en cuanto tengan oportunidad se van a subir a nuestro regazo y de que van a hacer todo lo posible para llamar nuestra atención.
Por eso, hay que ponerse un poco ”firmes” y no dejar que nos distraigan demasiado. Sesiones de mimos cortas de unos cinco minutos cada cierto tiempo están bien, siempre y cuando no se repitan mucho.

While in the Atwood, Ontario area, a small town in Southwestern Ontario’s agricultural belt, looking through cemeteries for links to family history, we parked in the shade and hopped out to do some hunting of names. As I stepped out I noticed a rather odd cloud over a farm across the road and immediately thought of it as an exclamation mark in the sky. Positioning myself to get clear of some power lines I captured this somewhat odd scene. - JW

Tech Details:
Taken using a hand-held Nikon D7100 fitted with an AF-S DX Nikkor 12-24mm lense fitted with a polarizing filter and set to 18mm, Auto WB, Aperture priority mode, f/7.1, 1/125 sec with and EV+0.33 exposure bias. PP in free Open Source RAWTherapee from Nikon RAW/NEF source file: set final image size to 9000x6000, set exposure compensation to EV+0.34, enable Graduated Neutral Density/GND tool and rotate as well as shift to cover and darken the foreground crop areas only, increase contrast and Chromaticity in L-A-B mode, set white balance to daylight/5300K, increase vibrance slightly, enable shadows/highlights and recover highlights ans well as bring up the shadows to bring out detail in the darker areas of the trees, sharpen, save. PP in free Open Source GIMP: adjust tone curve to brighten the top 1/2 of the curve while holding the lower section at default, boost contrast and brightness a bit to bring out the cloud better, adjust colour balance to remove a slight residual green cast, sharpen, save, scale image to 6000x4000, sharpen slightly, save, add fine black and white frame, add bar and text on left, save, scale image to 1800 wide for posting online, sharpen slightly, save.
