Sidewalk Construction

The City of Kitchener has hired a company to fix all the sidewalks around our neighbourhood, including putting actual sidewalk ramps in at the ends of the streets (they were slopped on asphalt previously) and work has been moving around for a few weeks now.

The last two days was our turn, and the process is totally fascinating.

The backhoe driver is a genius. We've all been talking about how gentle he is with it, and how skilled. It's really something to watch. Tap, tap, boom.

We recently had our phone line replaced after a couple of years of horrific static, and it was the sole victim in this renovation. Thankfully it seems to be happily repaired now, and I got to watch some of that, too (a couple of those photos are in this set).
