CN 3889 gets #422 underway at Bayview

After waiting for an eastbound to come off the Dundas Sub and then a westbound to go up the Dundas Sub and then a GO train into Hamilton (courtesy of the new all day hourly service to Hamilton) CN #422 gets underway for the pull up the hill to Aldershot yard where it will set off the doublestacks on the head end. Those doublestacks normally get picked up after only a few hours at Aldershot by Chicago - Toronto train #148. But as #422 pulled past the junction with the Dundas Sub #148 came off the Dundas and powered up #1 track. The call had been made to #148 to "keep on coming" so the doublestacks will have to wait to be delivered to Brampton Intermodal Terminal.

The previous day's #421 had 11,000 feet of train leaving Aldershot yard for Port Robinson which warranted 3 locomotives up front plus a DPU. They were all on the head end of today's #422 plus an IC SD70 which was probably at American Motive Power (AMP) in Dansville, NY for work.
