Rite Aid interior
Rite Aid #11285 (12,608 square feet)
13271 Warwick Boulevard, Newport News, VA
Opened in fall 2007; originally Revco (opened February 15th, 1996), became Eckerd in June 1997
Revco built two standalone stores on the Peninsula in the mid 1990s, both in Newport News. One has been vacant for over a decade, while the other is currently in use as a Rite Aid, which is one of the stores they acquired from Eckerd in 2007. Of course, Rite Aid has retained most of the original Revco features, such as the glass entryway that lets in an abundance of natural light and the warehouse ceiling/ceiling tile hybrid, but whatever decor package Eckerd was using was stripped away for the typical look Rite Aid used in the mid-late 2000s. Revco's floor tiles were left intact as well, which are a random mix of blue squares and blue diamonds inside of black squares.
