A Distant Glow
The lights of The Dalles and the wind farms in the Columbia River create a false sunset under the Milky Way from Cloud Cap Inn on the North side of Mount Hood, Oregon.
The wind farms in the gorge have really grown in scope and size in the last few years. I wish that they would make them invisible. Many of the beautiful places and views that I love in the gorge now have rows upon rows of these ugly monsters on them now. They're a blight on the landscape if you ask me.
The night that I took this shot they were all blinking their red lights in unison. They all must be on a computer timing device as they were all synchronized. It gave the view an eerie un natural feeling.
It's finally Friday! Go out and take pictures this weekend.
