Wind & water
I turned an agricultural corner on my way back that I am turning into a series. Early morning a couple of weeks back, eDDie yelled and rousted me to join him out at the sunflower field. I grabbed my gear immediately and bailed out east on SH #66 toward I-25 but turned north on back road #7 to scout for anything of interest. I grabbed some floral tributes to early morning while there. On my way to sunflower overload, I spotted a few items of rural interest and decided to return on the same route at a sane speed. I found captures that interested me as long as I had plenty of time to poke. Now I feel that I should have been even pokier while managing to avoid the pokey at cruising speed.
I have been blasted by sunflowers before but we had a hazy sky due to some degree of moisture and "fake" smoke from California wildfires. I doubt that any smoke is from wildfires in California because das Leader has decried "global warming" as fake news. It must be something else entirely. Damn, it's really hot even this early in the morning. It was early in the day yet but it was starting to slug me down. It was smart to bring my Propel hydration. This mucky sky is dialing it up to broil.
Although a plain(s) shot, blanketed with western forest fire smog, this old windmill looks suspiciously like a front lawn ornament instead of machinery, held into the winds while converting it's spin into ground water. That's far more valuable sort of spin than Trump's variety of spin applied to reality. Regardless of the windmill, I am now on my way back to highway #66 and my way back to Frogtown before it gets really hot and I burn the rest of my hydration I packed.
