Confined Gaze
In "Confined Gaze," I aim to capture a moment of intense focus and perhaps a touch of apprehension, seen through a barrier. The tight crop and unusual angle emphasize the hand holding the jar, drawing attention to tactile interaction and the implied action. The reflections and distortions on the jar's surface suggest a contained world, while the bars or slats above create a sense of observation, or perhaps even confinement. My intention was to evoke curiosity about what is being held, what is being observed, and the psychological space of the subject. It's a study of tension and intimacy, where the mundane object takes on a narrative weight.
