Day 38 - Family tree
25 Nov 10 - Today’s Daily Shoot assignment is:
Make a photograph today that documents your family or conveys how you think of your family.
Get out there, take a photograph, upload it, and tweet a link to @dailyshoot with the hashtag: #ds375
Wasn't very inspired by the assignment today so i thought i'd take a picture of a tree. But this tree (or what's left of it) is in some small way connected to my family as it is in the village where i grew up and my family (on my mothers side) have lived for over a hundred years. It is a very interesting tree too. There is a plaque beside it which reads:
TILFORD OAK
FORMERLY CALLED NOVEL'S OAK
THIS OAK TREE WAS FOR LONG HELD TO BE THE FINEST IN SURREY AND MAY BE AS MUCH AS 800 YEARS OLD. WILLIAM COBBETT CALLED IT "BY FAR THE FINEST TREE THAT I EVER SAW IN MY LIFE" IN 1952 IT MEASURED 26 1/2 FEET IN GIRTH AT 5 FEET FROM THE GROUND
Sadly over recent years it has been dying back and is coming to the end of it's long life.
Luminance HDR 2.0.1 tonemapping parameters:
Operator: Mantiuk06
Parameters:
Contrast Mapping factor: 0.1
Saturation Factor: 1.5
Detail Factor: 5.1
------
PreGamma: 1
Created from 2 jpegs. I took 3 but i shot this hand held and the camera twisted slightly.
