Idea No. 489: Toxic.

What does a toxic relationship look like? Is it only with lovers? Or can it be a family member or friend? Why do we cause ourselves to nurture the very thing that hurts us? Is it because of societal pressure? Ignorance? Or because we feel as humans we can help it grow into something different? But that’s the thing; a cactus, even though it can grow flowers, still has thorns.

I thankfully, to my knowledge, have never been in a toxic relationship. So for me, when I see others in one, I don't understand it...but that's exactly the point I guess. I've never had those thorns stuck in me. I had a student this past year who on a daily basis described how abusive her boyfriend was to her verbally, and that's part of the reason I came up with this idea (they broke up I believe).

This is another exciting photo for me due to it being taken at #saguaronationalpark ! I was hesitant to try and Photoshop two different scenes together, months apart, but I love the way it turned out 😁 I have several others from other parks too! Summer ends for me this week, but I'm hoping to ramp up the photo taking. Cheers!
