A question for my film geek friends.

 

I was on retreat at the Abbey of the Genesee last week. The Olympus OM-2 got a lot of use. Unfortunately, the shots with relatively bright backgrounds ended up with banding such as you see here. The dark bands (light bands on the negative) are lined up with the sprocket holes in the film.

 

I am flummoxed as to what the cause might be. The camera was extremely well taken care of by the previous owner. I used it extensively the summer of 2018 and did not get any banding. The only difference I can think of is that I developed this and the previous roll in CineStill monobath instead of my old faithful D76. Since I don't think light leaks were the cause, I'm going to get the next roll commercially developed and see what we can see. Strange.

 

I'll have more from this set later on -- I did get some shots that worked well -- but I wanted to get this one out in front of people.
