On the right, some streets of the 'old town' (Altstadt) as well as the Old Town Hall (Altes Rathaus) of Munich can be seen. Severely damaged in World War II, the latter is now a reconstruction of the original building which was designed by Jörg von Halsbach (died in 1488). Photo taken from the Alte Peter Church Tower, adjacent to Marienplatz.
