Sunset On The Rivers Of America (Explored at #2 on 3/26/12)

Please view larger on black if you have a moment. Thanks! :)

This was taken a few weeks ago on an afternoon when I finally managed to be in the park just as a storm was breaking up. On the opposite side of the river, Mike Greening is taking a killer shot of a Rainbow over the Mark Twain, so I think it's safe to say that we are in each other's shots. Just a few moments prior to this shot, both of us were relaxing in the Plaza Inn with Diane, when suddenly we looked up and noticed that the sun had come out. Not bothering to order food, we bolted out the door and began to shoot like mad. Mike made a beeline for New Orleans Square and I took the long way around through Fantasyland and then over to Big Thunder Mountain as I thought it might be cool to shoot a Rainbow over Rainbow Ridge. I was on my way to find Mike when I noticed the color in the sky and had to stop to take a couple of brackets.

i was over at the park again tonight trying for the same sort of sky, but no dice. Just before sunset, another bank of clouds rolled in and the show was over. I'm trying to make a trip over with every storm lately as it generally stops raining in March and it will be a loooong wait until the rainy season begins again next November.

3 shot handheld HDR using the Sigma 10-20 via Nik Color Efex and CS5.
