John Hench Retires
A celebration of the legacy and accomplishments of Park Planning & Stewardship Division Chief John Hench was held at Brookside Gardens on Friday evening, honoring his 37 YEARS of service to the parks. Attendees included Planning Board members, County Council representatives, Planning Department staff, former Park Directors, many retired park employees, leaders from the environmental community, along with many friends and family members. John’s commitment to the stewardship of natural and cultural resources in the park system and his data-driven methodology to set the future direction for the parks has been ingrained in the DNA of the Parks Department and will benefit county residents for many generations to come.
