I had just come home from a long day, and was greeted by The Girl, bawling because Georgie was gone. Someone had left the sliding glass door open, and they couldn't find him in the house, so he must have gotten out. But, he's never wandered beyond the deck when he's escaped, and almost always comes when I call him. When neither of those were true, I was worried (though I hid it from The Girl). I was looking in the back yard again, under the deck, in the bushes, when happily, Hubs announced that he'd finally found the cat under our guest bed. Whew! Even though he was never truly lost, he got lots of attention from me that night. I should have known better - he knows he's got a good thing here. And so do we.
