Sentier du littoral à Bandol dans le Var -3D0A0774
The Coastal Path
This trail is a pure wonder to discover!
From the port of Bandol to Engraviers
To the south, beautiful view of the island of Bendor. The seaside along the path leading to the beach has a characteristic erosion, alternating scalloped points and giant pots. One of them was manmade into a rectangular basin and is called "Trou de Madame".
Legend has it that this basin was made for the sea baths of the manor who lived just above. More likely, it must be a breeding ground.
Maritime Crithme and Arborescent Alfalfa stand side by side. Strong marine erosion. Hikers will find a lookout with benches and an orientation table at Pointe Encanet.
We observe various operations of revegetation of eroded areas with endemic plants (maritime cinariae, junipers, sea fennel). You come to the creeks and the Capélan peninsula. The path widens, partly passable. Note the root system networks tracing the Aleppo pine.
We cross the Athéna residence to finally descend to the Engraviers beach. At point A, beautiful views of Ile Rousse, a breeding ground for marine avifauna, the Calanques de Cassis, Ile de Riou, Calsereigne, Bec de l'Aigle and La Ciotat. There is an information panel at the edge of the municipalities of Bandol and St-Cyr.
